One pro of having a carbon steel knife opposed to a tool steel knife is that you can sharpen it on a smooth rock from a stream or creek instead of having to carry fragile sharpening stones with you.

I have one 240 and the 110 pukkoo. Never since i grap one of my more expensive knives, bcs the performance of the terävä is just as good or even better. They outperforme some much more expensive knives easily.

After buying this, I stopped wasting money on expensive big choppers. I have similar sized blades that are triple the price and they just sit in my knife drawer because the Skrama beats them all. This has become an essential part of my kit. The handle and balance are really ingenious. When you grip toward the back of the handle it is a superb chopper, but when you grip up toward the base of the blade it feels so light that you will swear it’s a different knife. You can’t beat it for the price. Also, 80CrV2 is very tough steel, so you can beat the hell out of it without fear

Awesome tool! I have used the 240 for past few years and have absolutely no complaints. No, it doesn't replace a proper axe, but carrying an axe that is of any practical and useable size is still heavier than the skrama and a large folding saw together, which is a far more versatile combo.
The mini skrama 80 is my EDC, a great little blade that can take a beating and is a pleasure to sharpen

I have the puukko 110. It is the most versatile small fixed blade knives I have found. For large knives I have preferred the Khukri for decades so I just havent spent the money for the 200 or 240.

Caring for steel is something i value. I feel like there's a lot of misunderstanding around it too. Its very simple, rust is like a wound that will never heal, once that wound opens, it's your job to close it, otherwise it will stay open and become infected.

I got the Skrama 200 as a gift years ago and when I opened the package I laughed out loud at how ugly it was and it sat on a shelf for awhile until one day I had to try and slice up frozen solid pork belly so I used the Skrama and it is a beast. It's become our knife of choice when we have to deal with any frozen meat or bone. It's also extremely easy to sharpen just with the kitchen knife steel. I take it out in the woods and I chop/cut/smash with it and it goes back in the kitchen drawer when I get home. I honestly thought it was made from old truck leaf springs and it doesn't matter because for the money it's probably the best cutting/chopping tool I own....Seems so wrong to call it a knife because it does so much more than that. Great video.

I have the 110 puukko and the 240 skrama. No problems at all, i love this combo. I heared from some guys the handle came loose, not with mine, i did beat the hell out of it, still solid. Wiping it clean with a rag after using, not much problems with rust also. I have more expensive knives, but the teräve do perform on the same level, i think this is the world champion in cost/ performance. Greetings from austria....

I have first generation Skrama from 2014 or something. Used it a lot but not so much nowdays. When i go winter hiking/skiing i have my axe and small puukko. Summertime i use TRC-TR15, i can use it everything i need to do. My honest opinnion is that Skrama is like jack of all trades, master of none. It can be used everything that smaller knife can ( of course not as good as small puukko) but i think it is not enough weight to use as axe. But steel is good and design too. Told my son about big knives: if you want to compensate your small "manhood", dont take big knife. Take a huge rucksack like your daddy does 😅 works better

I can't have all of the Skramas, so I got the 200. It's everything I needed at the "large" end of the cutting/hacking tool spectrum. There's an old saying that the dull knife is a dangerous tool -- well, in my view the undersized knife is just as bad . . .

You say everyone should have one? I am going to have to disagree with you. I think everyone should have 4 or 5. One in each car/truck/SUV. One in a Jump kit/survival kit bag. One with your regular camping gear. This is easily one of the best knives in the world for the price. It's tougher than the head of a bullfighter. It's sharper than the satire of a politician. It's more convenient than the Leatherman was when it came out back in 1980. I just love my Skrama. The only reason I'm not going to buy more like the ones I have is because I'm going to get the Skrama 200, and the ones I have are 240s.
