Good morning Linda. That okra is looking awesome. You need to use your pouch apron to harvest so your hands will be free. That way you can have your shovel with you and continue to harvest. I hope you are able to get some of that good looking corn. Mines aren’t doing well, the male has shown up too fast and it’s not going to produce but we need to amend the soil a little better. Your okra looks good too. Brittany has been trying to get her okra to grow tall, I’ll have to let her know about the different varieties ! ♥️

Nice video. I use trash can for my compost bin . Place holes in bottom and side for air get in. If have someone handy may can construct a container that will turn, I thought about it. Have do some research. May wait for fall less busy to try. I have redactable hose by not by vego. Really like it need to use more, will soon.

I just saw okra blooms on mine. I have purple hulls, crowders, and red rippers but I don`t have a lot of space. I have to expand my garden and plant more for a fall harvest. The raccoon will be back for the rest of the corn. You need a guard dog in your garden. If you have melons he will eat them all.

I planted just a few Beit Alpha cucumbers this year and I can`t eat them all or give them all away and they need picking twice a day. And so far no pests or other issues. I started picking them very small so I can try to eat more of them. I`m seeing tiny figs on my trees but not many. The trees are still too young. Next year should be great.
I plan to make a lot of pickles this year to make up for last year when I didn’t get any cucumbers ❤️❤️😊💚
@@Sweettomatovine I made some refrigerator pickles. I found some seasoning and added a little apple cider vinegar. I like them just with sea salt and pink salt too. My Armenian cucumbers are growing this year. They get really huge and they say they`re sweeter with a great taste. I just planted them on the ground. I can`t get them to grow right on a trellis but some places grow them right on the ground and that`s working for me so far.

That looks like raccoons got the corn. They are so smart they pull the corn down then eat it. Could be deer though they can trample it and eat it but usually don't shuck it raccoons do that. You might need a trail cam like what hunters use to see if you can monitor the garden.

We always had raccoons getting our corn and melons. Now I have a bunch of driveway alarms and stay up all night or I get nothing.
I guess I’ll be up some nights because I plan to install a garden alarm ❤️😊💚
@@Sweettomatovine I`m still angry about last year. Everything was doing great and suddenly armadillos uprooted everything. So since I have several alarms now I went ahead and planted some sugar baby & honeydew melons and guard them nightly with an airgun ready. I have a sugar baby melon almost at picking size with an alarm aiming at it day and night. These animals are very smart though. An armadillo buried an alarm last year and also damaged it by breaking a piece off it and I had to replace it.

I thought you saved seed from those large okra pods.Thats what i do if i miss them.
Hi Delphine ❤️ I prefer to leave the pods on the stalk to get huge and completely dry in the stalk. That is when I trust the seeds to be viable enough to share. I save some okra seeds from some Jambalaya okra that I just harvested when they were too hard and I planted them this year and they germinated, but they appeared weak and I didn’t trust them so I reseeded with some from my packet. The seeds that I saved looked smaller than the ones from the packet. I believe I would’ve gotten okra. Maybe not the most healthy or prolific ❤️😊💚

The 2 usual suspects that may have destroyed your corn, either raccoons or a deer. Both are notorious for eating corn.
Hopefully, you’ll put an electric fence around your 🌽 for next year.
