Great win for the boys against the best pitcher/team in the NL. Hope they saved some runs for the next couple games, will see more tough arms. Won't blame Torres for his comments about playing 3b they already tried that at ss. The Yankees don't need to make their defense even worse than it is with Torres out of place, just for the goal of making it a little bit better. Maybe some renewed confidence with Wells clicking at cleanup, and Stanton and Jazz being added at the same time. Volpe/Verdugo showing life again since being place in and out of the leadoff spot. Let's f'in go!
Jazz is a tremendous baseball player. Hoping he has good mentors on the Yankees so he can tap his talent. Wishing him the best going forward. This could be exactly the place he needs to be.
@@chrisweidner4768 I’ve been watching him since his Marlins days and in his second game as a Yankee, I can see the change already. In Miami he was a very flashy player flipping the bat after a HR, just immature stuff, I think he knows he’s playing on a professional team now.

Derek finally getting a chance to wear his Victory Top Hat with some regularity, it had been mothballed far too many nights the last six weeks. I wouldn't want to trade away Spencer Jones for a pitcher in Jack Flaherty who's rediscovered his form from 2019 but is still too much of a wildcard.
I wouldnt trade Jones for Flathery. That would be a mistake. He is a FA at the end of the year. That would be dumb. You only trade Jones for Crochet or Skubal. Snell and Hicks for Rodon, Cortes and Arias.
I hear the Yankees are in on Yandy Diaz. As much as I think hes a great hitter, that would mean the end of Ben Rice as a Yankee who I think might even get traded! I hope not, i really like this kid hes gonna be great and seems to be adjusting well lately against good teams and piching. Plus, Yandy is NOT known to be a good fielder. Rice would probably get dealt to Tampa Bay in that deal and will haunt us for years there!
Why is it that no one wants to go and get these guys when they’re free agents but now we have to trade away prospects they wanna go get these guys. Flaherty/Bellinger/IKF amongst others
We needed someone like Jazz who plays with heat and energy. Looks crazy on the bases and just puts a lot of effort w/ everything.
This is the type of win we've been missing for so long... I hope we can take this series and finally get our confidence back

Why trade Nestor for a low level bullpen arm? Can’t Nestor just pitch out the pen as a stretch reliever
I was thinking the same thing. I feel that Nestor would rip it up in the bullpen! They should keep him.
He’s in his last season of his contract. They aren’t going to sign him as a starter so trying to get some value for him makes sense
My thoughts as well. Change for the sake of change is not the answer. Nestor should be a solid middle reliever.

Agree totally. Jones is hitting .235 in AA striking out 42% of the time. Flaherty is a legit starter age 28. Pitching pitching pitching!!!
