    So funny. We both have 600amph worth of lithium batteries. However, you’re in a huge bus and I’m in a small van. Haha

    Love you guys stuff. You do clean work and great videos. This is all Greek too me though (and I failed Greek 2 twice). I've been trying to understand electrical systems, specifically battery and dollar systems for years I just don't get any of it. I really just need someone to design and build a system for me I guess.

    Strong work on the lithium switchover. All around I think you made a better choice to power the bus. Maybe it's time to do the same with your barber??? Nice part, it all grows back pretty fast. Thanks for another great teachable vid Devin.

Really quick if you can, i'm in the process of making a skoolie myself and will be drawing a LOT of inspiration from yours considering the gaming pc, solar, and battery setup. How many kwh would you say you use in an average day, and how long would the batteries be able to supply that?

      Hey Edward! Its a bit complicated qt the moment lol. I won't know the full potential until I get my new panels. With the right amount of panels I can run everything all the time. I could run everything, including my ac, gaming pc, all lights and fridge for around 10 hours off of just the batteries, but the important question is will my solar be able to charge them back up and run everything else at the same time.

    Hey how is the battery configuration working? I have 6, 100ah 12v lithium batteries that I plan to put in series parallel exactly like you did to make a 24v system. Anything issue so far?

    • @BasicallyNomads
      @BasicallyNomads  Před 9 měsíci +1

      Not a single issue. Been goin strong for years! Only thing I would have done differently now would be to use 24v batteries so I didn’t have to series them.

    Was that dielectric grease you were putting on the battery terminals? I ask because dielectric grease is an insulator and would be the last thing you would want between the terminal and lug.

    • @BasicallyNomads
      @BasicallyNomads  Před rokem

      Yeah, you use dielectric grease to prevent corrosion. You squeeze it all out in the process of tightening it, but you leave it in place to prevent moisture from creeping it.

    • @peteroliver9042
      @peteroliver9042 Před rokem

      @@BasicallyNomads It's a insulator and non conductive. Not something I would put on battery terminals. In fact some people go to the trouble of wiping lugss and terminals with brake cleaner to remove any grease residue that comes from your fingers. It could be restricting under high amp load.

    • @BasicallyNomads
      @BasicallyNomads  Před rokem

      @@peteroliver9042 sorry, but I don’t think that’s right. It’s nonconductive by design so it doesn’t cause a short, but it won’t stop or even slow down 200amps coming through. People have been using it for years to great effect, especially in areas where water might be involved.

      @@BasicallyNomads I run chins. But ampere time same company. So I run 12v 100ah x 4 in series to make 48v on a 3000w baterryless growatt all in one. In order to fully charge the 4 Batts I need 10 x 250w used santan panels wired in a 5 2 configuration. Meaning half the panels are split up into parallel allowing me to double the amps while keeping voltage the same. In this 5s2p setup my volts are 160 or so and my amps are 16-20. 16 amps is needed to get to full charge on four 12v 100ah lifepo4.

    That's not 600 amp hours in series parallel. That's 300 amp hours at 24v. This will yeald you 7200 watt hours. If you wired them all in parallel, it would be 600 amp hours at 12v. That setup would net you the same 7200 watt hours. 24v is way better.

    • @BasicallyNomads
      @BasicallyNomads  Před rokem

      Yeah, I’m pretty fluent in solar! Just like to frame everything in 12v terms as I find it easier for laymen to understand 😁 24v is a requirement for anything that takes over 1000 watts in my opinion!
