From the number of ride trains that Hyperia will have to the real answer as to why the ride isn't themed and much much more are revealed in this very incredible Hyperia site tour as the first official members of the public (after Dom of course) to wander around the construction site of the ride!

@LiftHillsandThrills Hopefully they are now well maintained and looked after as well as it's all well and good bringing in amazing theming and rides but if it's not looked after then it ruins it as seen in the past

Its interesting how Alton Towers and Thorpe Park are taking two different routes. With exception to Big Easy Thorpe Park are moving away from themed areas with the stylised Hyperia plaza & street whilst Alton Towers are moving more towards immersion with increased set pieces and themed foot locations of Gloomy Wood & Forbidden Valley
By the sounds of it Thorpe are looking at more themed experiences moving forward now that Varney's last investment for Thorpe has been completed (Hyperia)

I don’t think I’ll get an “oh sh*t” moment until I’m either sitting down on the train, or approaching the peak of the lifthill… whatever gets me first!

I can’t wait to be back inside the park - especially to see Hyperia. In regards to the theming it’s good news that the budget has been slightly raised by Scott since the original plans, as it would have been a shame if there was no theming at all to look at, especially when inside the queue (which I’m sure I will be in a lot when it opens). I’m also quite intrigued by what the inside of the station will look like as the fact there will be some effects on excites me!!
They've said the queue line will be more stylised when it comes to its 'theming' but they're doing a little something in the station which certainly sounds more lighting related or effects related than anything else

hyperia dosnt need to be highly themed. but I think now they have there main big draw attraction, future coaster projects weather is be a multi launch or somthing. should be highly themed. I would love a tarron style multi launch to maybe replace sleath / take over island next to swarm.
Hyperia did need some theming... it's the least themed coaster in the entire park, Saw has the station building to make up for lack of exterior whereas Hyperia just won't have that reliance on theming. For me, it's a shame but that's my personal love of theming coming to fold, hearing that much more investment will be put on theming for future projects is very encouraging!
Now ...whilst I'm sure that when you are actually there it will be more impressive...the thing that bugs me is its relatively small footprint.... like smiler at AT its a lot going on in a small area, i really hoped it would be more like Shambala at Portaventura or one of the big coasters at Cedar Point as in a proper roller coaster style ..still i bet its gonna be a great ride.
I think it’s going to surprise a lot of people when they’re out of their seats for 80% of the ride

That makes sense as to why there is no theming. I do believe that future projects will have more theming, but we will have to wait and see. Also single rider is never a bad thing

so happy that it has a single rider queue, if you don't mind like myself not riding with your friends, then you can join the single rider queue for a big reduction in queue time, well a couple times, one of my friends got on the same train as me, this was on Smiler, me and my friend went on it like 5 times just going through the single rider queue, we need more single rider queues on rides, just to fill those gaps on the rows

That’s interesting about the Varney era. I’m now looking forward to seeing what they bring in terms of theming with the next big project. Did you get any hints if the slammer replacement will come next year. What would you like to see replace it? Great video as always.
I've been saying it for a while as that's what I was told from the horses mouth so to speak but it's nice to hear it directly from the park officially to confirm it. No hints to a slammer replacement but I know some manufacturers have been contacted. I'd be happy with any flat personally! I'm not a flat person really but something to occupy the space and spread out queues would go down a treat
I can’t understand how Merlin Magic makers have done such an amazing job with the theming of nemesis and done such a bad job on the theming off this ride

@@LiftHillsandThrills but when the small parks like Poulton Park are putting together areas like tornado springs, which is probably currently the best themed area in the UK. Merlin should be looking at these parks and doing better than them.
@@Kyle-Russell Of course and as Varney's last few projects are complete I'm sure we'll be seeing more effort in areas / rides in future :) it's still a transitional period they need to step it up with Universal on its way

Well that deffo explains the lack of theming! Did they mention at all about the splashdown viewing area? I know it's been canceled for now but I'd love for them to put it in in the future
It wasn't asked or discussed, the passholders group just stated it was removed form plans but no reason why... I assume budget again possibly?
@@LiftHillsandThrills yeah I mean looking at the map there's not really enough room for it unless they take away a part of the lake again so maybe it was removed due to some of those flooding / environmental concerns back in the early stages?

Stop it! haha even Thorpe admitted they wanted it themed but the decision was out of their hands regarding budget. Having a bog standard piece of metal just standing there doesn't scream THEME PARK it screams amusement park haha although weirdly ICON works without much theming... it fits into its surroundings, thankfully this is towards the back of the park where Colossus track (minus the tunnel) / Saw outside is as bland as it gets
@@LiftHillsandThrills Every hyper coaster I’ve done is “styled” rather than themed, even the masters of theming gave Silver Star some F1 branding and left it at that 😅
Unpopular opinion, the station looks and falls so flat. It's just a big box. Look at the Swarm, SAW, Nemesis Inferno, heck even Colossus - the theming is really strong with those, but there's almost 0 theming for this ride. I know landscaping hasn't even started , but the actual theming is basically none - I understand why as mentioned in the video, but it's just 'uplifting' and 'fearless' words put about. Maybe this is why Thorpe Park leaned into the disaster / horror theme so hard as it's an easy route.
It's not an unpopular opinion by any means, it's a very popular one with many feeling the same. We've been mentioning for months that theming wasn't added due to budget restrictions from when Varney was in charge and whilst extra money was added to the project when Scott joined as CEO it seems it's just enhanced the ride area slightly. They assured me future projects would be more themed (as opposed to stylised) moving forward
@@LiftHillsandThrills Hopefully that is the case. Generally though the revamped park looks great! I haven't been since around 2017, but went a lot circa 2009-2010.
On the theming side, I'll be really happy if there's just a whole load of big bushes plants that sway as the trains go near - that is satisfying and helps make up for the lack of for sure.

Just seen the train design for Starfall racers at epic universe and now I’m intrigued to see if it has a themed zero car rather than just the logo at the front. Do u think they will be extra theming added to it throughout the season?
I'd like to see it but I don't think there's been any addition budget added to it after the initially approved improvement $$$

It’s annoying that Hyperia is stylised. The rest of the park is full of heavily themed experiences. This is their biggest and best coaster and newest and it’s regressed from swarm. I don’t understand why they didn’t go all out on the theming, even after the fact.
I do agree with this wholeheartedly but sadly it just wasn't meant to be, there's some surprises still to come and whilst it'll be the weakest themed ride the landscaping may just be the saving grace, I'm sure all will be forgiven when it's all complete!

It's speakers that will be placed up the lift hill and around the ride so it's on-board audio as opposed to on-ride audio with built in speakers. All confirmed today.

The UK has been crying out for something like this for a while and European park leaders are actually looking at this project very carefully, especially the ones I'm speaking to anyways. Think they deserve a bit more respect than what this comment infers.
