- Remember the Pinecil Soldering Iron Box from a couple of videos ago ( • All-In-One Pinecil Sol... )? I finalized the plans so that YOU can make your own! In this video, I'll explain the steps in detail and share some tips and tricks for a smooth manufacturing process.
If you haven't heard of the awesome Pinecil soldering iron before: It's a small, powerful, well-designed tool with many different options for power input (up to 65W via USB-C-PD power supplies or power banks, 18V power tool batteries, 19V laptop chargers, RC LiPos, ...). Man would love an STL or similar file to just print the whole thing. I’ve got a printer, but none of the tools needed to mill the box.

we call it solder flux or resign
The Lötspitzenaktivator? It's actually not just flux (i.e. to aid in the soldering process), but rather a mix of abrasive particles and solder that softens around ~300°C and allows the hot soldering tip to be scraped clean AND coated with fresh tin at the same time. It's fantastic for refurbishing "burnt" looking solder tips that would otherwise need to be replaced.
