I personally do hate people who critize her just because sometimes she may have some issues with her health that affects her voice. IDK why they always tend to forget Céline is just as human as any of us.

I think the actual big change in her voice came post 2003 once she started her Vegas residency. The Vegas desert really impacted her vocals. Not to say that she is bad now at all, but her voice is more nasal and her voice isn't as pure/strong. Her voice pre-Vegas (2002) was just as good as the 90s IMO. With that said she is still one of the best!
it wasn't vegas. they installed lot of humidifiers on that vegas stage. Since starting vegas, 19 years went by and 3 children. those probably are bigger impact on her body. Since beyonce had twins recently, her voice completely changed.

After watching her new documentary, it explains these voice struggles during this tour. I am so sorry and sad to see her struggle with a disease that has robbed her of her amazing voice.
Now we know it was Stiff person syndrome and her throat muscles were locking up. She said she didn’t know what it was and had to keep saying it was a virus or a cold. I pray for her healing!! ❤️🙏
Oh all you sweet experts in Celine and her voice...what "happened" is called ageing. Muscles AGE you know(?!) Vocal cords AGE along with the rest of the body. She sounds amazing most of the times still, and when she doesnt, theres a natural explanation called age and "todays shape". So chill you all🙂
Cannot wait to see her on her Courage tour! I last saw her 9 years ago on the Taking Chances tour, and was due to see her in 2017 but that was sadly cancelled and then so was her 2020 tour :(
I am a singing student. I asked my teacher why Celine’s voice was so weak. She said (as I thought) that her voice was changed because of her sudden weight loss.
Her voice isn’t weak. If you’ve really followed celine through the years (and I don’t mean that as an insult to your love or appreciation you have for her) Anyways you will notice that at the beginning of her tours her voice does appear to be SLIGHTLY “out of shape”. But what I’ve noticed is that as the tour goes forward her voice gets stronger and stronger and after a few weeks she is a powerhouse force to be reckoned with. But her voice is FAR from weak.

This has a role in the declination of the voice as we age. Celine has great technique which is why it has been very strong through most of her career, but usually around 50 is where the voice becomes more of a struggle.
When it’s a God-given gift, such as Celine’s voice, one can’t lose it. She’s human so just like all of us, she goes through life’s sore throats, viruses, colds, allergies, emotional stuff, and of course, aging. However, God-given natural talents never stop existing! It never stops being true within people, whom God gifts a certain way...and all of us have different types of natural talents. It’s ALWAYS THERE! Now, whether we use it or not, that’s a completely different story... But the fact is, one can’t lose a natural God-given talent! However and obviously apart from aging and sickness, one can definitely hinder his or her own natural talent, which happens due lack of practice (work/use). A natural talent is like a muscle: it needs to be worked on and used in order to become “well defined”, stronger, and in order to remain strong! But unlike physical body parts, which can be removed or accidentally lost, one can’t lose a natural God-given talent! Look at what happened to Celine’s voice, as she recovered from a viral infection! The more she sang, the better she sounded!! With her type of vocal talent, it doesn’t take long for her to overcome vocal hindrances, such as viral infections...but in order to overcome such hindrances, she needs to sing! Celine has one of those awesome God-given voices...and until she dies, it’ll always be there within her!!!
Now we know what really happened to her, let's hope she'll get much better after the diagnose and get the best treatment so she'll be able to control the disease
HM i think Celine is now a stronger Singer than mariah because Celine didnt lost that much of a range AS mariah. But the biggest issue is Celine gaining confident every Day where mariah lost her confident while performing because mariah struggles sometimes.

And even if her voice would be worse, don't forget she sings very high notes since more than 30 years, her vocal cords can be a little damaged, it's completely normal

it's not damaged, it just needed some resting because she's just exhausted for performing since her break on 2014-2015.

In my humble opinion; I don’t think she has lost her voice WHATSOEVER!! Has it changed some, well yes of course. She is aging as is her voice. So it’s clear that she has adapted her techniques to get the most out of it. I feel like when she has extended periods of time off, the first couple of weeks, weather it was Vegas or on tour, sound a tad more shaky and her notes sound unsupported. But the voice, if taken care of properly, should really strengthen with age. And singing everyday or close to it is key to keeping it in tip top shape. But once she gets back to singing on a consistent basis, she comes back full force with that powerhouse angelic voice. A good example, I feel, is her courage tour. The first few shows were definitely not her best performances. But after getting “back in shape” her voice was top notch. And is still in a whole other untouchable level! But that is just my assumption. I can’t wait for live music to make its return. I thankfully got to see Courage tour Nov 2019. And then went on to buy another pair of tickets for what would have been the 2020 stop back to a city 2 hours from me. I sure hope that they just keep postponing it and not cancelling indefinitely. I got 5th row from the front for a steal. And if they just refund my ticket price I will have practically lost money because of how good the seats were for the fantastic price I paid.

Where did you see her in November? I saw her in Detroit, November 5, 2019 on my birthday.
