- Clouds Rest - Yosemite National Park - Full Hike
Keep Moving as we venture through Yosemite National Park and explore one of the most popular hikes in Yosemite.
We'll journey through 6.5 miles one way in this virtual hike as we travel along the Clouds Rest Trail via Tenaya Lake. The full hike is 13 miles long, over 7 hours duration, and has over 3,000 feet elevation gain.
See the amazing views of Yosemite National Park, the lush forest, and get a glimpse of the draw dropping views of Half Dome and Yosemite Valley from the distance at the top of Clouds Rest.
This is a difficult hike with lots of elevation gain. Be cautious and be careful if attempting to hike. Make sure to bring lots of water and snacks and all essentials.
Use this video to see what you'll experience along the trail.

Thank you so much ... did it once in my 50s. Now in my 70s, so I'll never make it again - except with you. The views are better than Half Dome - if you've done Half Dome, you've GOT TO DO THIS.
Beautiful but quite rugged trail , great hike on a sunny day !
Just did this for the first time yesterday, June 22nd. CRAZY CRAZY MOSQUITOES THE ENTIRE TIME - EVEN AT THE TOP
Awesome! Such a great hike with some of the best views in the park

Thanks for the support! I feel the name is appropriate lol it’s what I always tell myself when I’m tired. I have lots of videos I’m cleaning up plus lots of new hikes I’m doing this year, some cool stuff coming
This is so much better than the stale picture.
I agree! You can visually experience more
Now I know where to go when I need my Clouds Rest fix! I've done it 5 times including a thru-hike from Tenaya lake to Yosemite Valley. Even saw the sun rise from the summit. Thanks for sharing!
Here for anyone who has hiking withdrawals like me lol. Wow wow wow! A thru hike must have been amazing and exhausting. Great job! More awesome hikes to come
Great hike. I love the spectacle!
glad you enjoyed it! one of the most beautiful hikes in Yosemite
I'll be doing this hike as soon as the Tioga Road is open this year. One of my favorite hikes! Great video! You really had beautiful weather and clear skies.
I hiked this in July last year! Perfect weather to hike in Yosemite. I’ll be going again this June to get some more awesome hikes in! Hope you enjoy your hike
I watched half of this video today. It's an excellent hiking video for treadmill. I have subscribed your channel and can't wait to explore more. I really appreciate your time and effort. God bless!
Thank you for your support!!! I’m glad you enjoyed it. Lots more beautiful trails coming
An awesome awesome hike if you can do 14 miles in a day. The views are even better than Half Dome. Only downside was you go up in about a mile from the trailhead and then you go back down. So, coming back you actually have to go uphill again for a ways.- instead of the traditional up on the way there and down on the way back. The extra effort is well worth it ..
One of my favorite all time hikes. Those views are worth all the pain!
Just did that and yosemite point via upper yosemite falls trail.I went up the mist trail and after them two days i could hardly walk.I should have got in shape first.6 Foot 3 inch 260 lbs was a bit much once i got around 7500 feet of elevation.
wow awesome job! those are tough hikes but the views are worth the pain. Keep moving and hiking! These hikes are tough even for those in great shape! Glad you got to enjoy and hope you keep hiking
You are a beast
thanks for the love and support!
Thx for sharing this video.
Q? Did you start your hike in the valley? Where did you start? I appreciate it if you can share that info. Happy Trails!

Happy to share! This hike I started from Tenya Lake near Tuolumne Meadows, so not in the valley. You can start from the valley, the trail follows the same one as half dome then splits off but that hike would be 20 miles long RT
Doing this May 2022
I’m excited for you! This is one of my all time favorite hikes! The views at Cloud Rest are breathtaking. Hope you enjoy!
Thank you for this amazing video! I’m about to hike Clouds Rest for the first time in a couple of weeks. Some points in the video, it seemed hard to see which way the trail continued. My biggest fear is getting off trail and lost. Do you have any tips or advice to avoid that? Thanks again for sharing this video!
Have fun! This is an awesome hike. Long and tough but some of the best views you’ll ever see. If you’re worried about getting off trail I recommend download the AllTrails app. It’s $100 for a lifetime membership and you can download trail maps for offline use. They use gps to track where you are and it shows you the trail path as well. Or you could find other free trail apps but I like AllTrails the best
@@KeepMovingHikingChannel I will definitely check that out. Thank You!!
we plan to hike this June. How was the weather in July?
This will be an epic hike! Hope you have fun. Weather is perfect in July. Not too hot but bring plenty of water and snacks, it’s a long trek. FYI if your planning on visiting, Yosemite NP is requiring advanced day permits to enter the park
Can you refill your water bottles at the pond that's over the half way mark if you treat the water? Does anyone do that at this pond? Or is this pond considered too dirty to even treat the water with those iodine type drops?
i wouldn't recommend drinking water from that pond. I think it's best to carry all the water you'll use 3-4L, I took 4L and had plenty extra. I always carry a water filter and would only use it and water treatment pills at the pond as a last resort if suffering from extreme dehydration.
Where are you starting from?
This hike I started from Tenaya Lake near Tuolumne Meadows
Do you worry about mountain lions on this trail? Probably at night it could be a problem?
I don't really worry. I think it's very rare to encounter a mountain lion or bear on the trail. Plus this trail has decent foot traffic that most animals stay away
