With Mimic you can cast Hangarback and Ballista for zero, allowing the deck to be a little more explosive. You could have done it in game 2 and 3.

Ahh shucks your totally right *facepalm* lol I even read about that play before trying Metallic Mimic and I must have forgotten in the heat of the moment! Good eye!

Challis of the Void or Engineered Explosives on one might me worth sideboarding against him.

I hate Chalice of the Void just based on principal, but Engineered Explosives sounds pretty incredible ! Hopefully with the Ultimate Masters re-print right around the corner the price comes down a little bit :/

Chalice is bad when they just have a Cavern of souls

Scooby dooderino It’s usually bad even without that, they just play lord and start generating card advantage with coco and lead

In game 1 on turn 5 you missed lethal by pumping Ballista and swinging+pinging, didn't end up mattering, but still better not giving your opponent a chance.

GB Elves player really fucked up attacking with the 9/9 Nettle, with all that mana and Ezuri he could have held up against Ballista and prepared for an OTK next turn

Yeah my opponent said the same thing right after he made the attack. He is a great player and a cool dude, he just didn't have that much experience with this particular match-up. He must've learned a lot from Game 1 though lol, cause he wrecked me Games 2 & 3!

  • @asteriskthegamingstar1891

Anything that kills 1/1 elves on turn 1 or turn2 is worth it. As an elves player myself, the weakness of this deck is you killing all the mana dorks

I think dampening sphere and gut shot would be good sideboard cards for this matchup.

Maybe dismember for the early game or damphing sphere
