- Welcome to Part 1 of the 3K Subscriber Special...the real life transport part! In this video I am joined by the brilliant Duraab and Henry as we aim to do something we've planned for a while, a transport race!! Us 3 go head to head in a very exciting and action packed Public Transport video as we test to see which is the fast mode of transport from Sheffield to Meadowhall.

Another reason for slow trams is that they're old (the 25 Siemens-Duewag trams were manufactured in the early '90s)
You should do a race between Nottingham and Hucknall as all 3 modes of transport go there and meet where the statues are. I'm always up for it when you're next in the area.

Great Video. You could do a Race between Sheffield and Rotherham where you would start up in the Peace Gardens and finish outside Rotherham Interchange near stand A1. I'm local to South Yorkshire so love to see this and join if able

Bus: any bus to Rotherham, probably X78
Tram: tram-train
Train: any train that goes through Rotherham
Should have got the 65 that drove past instead of waiting in the queue to get on the X78 ;)
Aye it takes slightly longer though I could of got if I knew those 2 were going to be late aha
U should race from Sheffield and go to the doncaster and go back to Sheffield Peter xx 😅😅😅

I might do Metro V train V Bus from Newcastle monument to Sunderland City Centre if I can get 2 of my friends to join me, I'd recommend that as a race as I think the stagecoach X24 is actually about 10 mins quicker than the metro and it would be interesting where the train ranks, I'd also recommend that to you next time you're in the North East. Another interesting race would be train VS the GNE X9/X10 between Newcastle & Middlesbrough as both take a similar time so that might also be interesting next time your in the NE

you could race between luton beds and london victoria as the coach and train is very similiar times to get there

Good race, but maybe you should each have used the different modes, giving three runs in total and finishing with the accumulated times to find the winner. Have you got all day?
Thank you, its something we could look into but for the purpose of logistics, timings and finances it was deemed best to do it this way this time. We were going for a Top Gear style approach rather than full accuracy if that makes sense
Out of interest, there was a 65 heading for Meadowhall. Would that not have been even quicker than the X78 as it would stop less often?
The 65 would have still worked however it takes around 10 minutes more than the X78 that despite picking up a tonne of people still beat it in by around 5 minutes or so
@@AndMoreCentral well the 65 has been cut back to terminate in the city centre and its frequency was reduced to once every 2 hours (basically to how it was before the extension)
I swear they allocated the X1 Streetdeck to the 76.

Aye, the Streetdecks do tend to stray onto other services a lot
The Manchester equivalent would be city centre to Ashton-under-Lyne where the bus, train and tram are all close competition; there's also Manchester Airport with all three but the bus would easily lose cos it takes ages hahaha
Aye well we will look into some Manchester ones, I imagine you'll be involved as and when we do them too!

Nah you didn't mess up the filming don't worry, afterall it was our first ever race and at the end of the day we all had fun so thats what matters!

This was a really interesting video... I filmed a video yesterday where I raced @De's Transport from Manchester To Sheffield using the X57 bus and the train... some very interesting results..
