The SD40-2 locomotives are a type of diesel locomotive from the SD (Super Duty) series manufactured by the American company Electro-Motive Division (EMD) from the 1970s. These locomotives were designed as an improved version of the SD40 locomotives, with enhancements in efficiency and power.
The SD40-2 locomotives became one of the most popular models in the SD series, due to their reliability and versatility. They were used by many railway companies in North America, both in freight and passenger trains.
Over the years, the SD40-2 locomotives have been updated and modernized to improve their performance and efficiency. Some of these locomotives are still in use today, showcasing the durability and longevity of this model.
In summary, the SD40-2 locomotives are an iconic model in the history of diesel locomotives and have played a significant role in the railway industry for decades.

Always did love Conrail blues, they used to run 2 blocks away from me, sadly they abandoned that section of rail, now it’s NS and they run a totally different way to the local business

Nice vid. Thinking about pulling the trigger on the NS/CR bundle, they pretty resource intensive? Ive got a decent computer, but TS cares not for modern and decent setups

I did notice a bit more stutter. But so far I only did this scenario with it, since I have trouble not breaking a scenario when I swap out more than one locomotive :(In this scenario it might also be the lenght of the trains that caused the stutter, so it's hard to tell how much more strain on the system the locomotive is. Did not see my CPU or GPU spike, I think the most strain is on the TS engine.

I would say get everything from SS before they take it off sale or something happens with their site again.

Is there no way to get the Conrail SD40-2?

No, I think they pulled the older NS/UP versions. Was supposed to be temporary, but it's been a while now.
