    Love the timeline love the program. Do you have a suggestion for workflow. I am a 25 year audio guy. I like to work on a verse. Do anything and everything, then pre chorus, then chorus etc, tweeting and perfecting section by section. It’s hard to know exactly what your going to do for ever section (like blinders for entire song) with out knowing what you did for the last part. So what is the best set up for working like that.

      Well, this is how its normally done by many LDs known to me. You make a chorus cue or cues, verse cues. Name them to easily find.
      Watch part 3 of timecode tutorials, it will show you how to generate markers in REAPER (daw) and import them into magicQ. Call those markers as chorus, verse1/2 etc. And them you will be able to CS macro trigger those earlier created cues (verse, chorus) in the right markers. Thus saving yourself time and being more flexible say if you update verse in one place it will automatically being updated in next place, unless you removed LINK between cues.

    If I have a 30 cue stack that I want to run on a timecode, is it possible to run the timecode from cue 3 and stop at cue 28?

      yes, it's possible. just change the HALT cell on Cue 28 as Wait YES. so step 27 will be the last one on timecode. system will wait for you to press GO to go to step 28

    Hi found your video and wanted to test it directly with a HD show. I have to fire content to the music.I did everything as described, but with the HD the 1st cue (it is. the 2nd of the list) remains dark. The dimmer opens with the 3rd of the list. I didn't find the mistake. I could only fix it by emptying the 1 cue, starting the 2. with 0.00.00.01 and opening the dimmer there and then playing the content with the 3. cue. I don't understand why.
    First cue empty, then the second.
    I Locate Mgaic HD, Locate the output, select the content and save it as a cue in the cuelist. The preview window shows me everything. For the 3rd cue I change the movie. The 2nd cue is dark.

      there was a bug in couple of versions where MagicQ would skip first step and jumps onto second. but it has been fixed. try the latest beta and even stable - all should work

    In which program mode do you work for this example? Normal (live) or theather tracking mode? I can only see you are in Custom, what does that mean?

    • @chamsysrus
      @chamsysrus  Před 3 lety

      Normal. However, as soon as i start changing settings, it becomes Custom. But in general all my lessons (unless its about tracking etc) are based on Normal settings and then slightly modified

    • @chamsysrus
      @chamsysrus  Před 5 lety

      yes it does support external timecode. if midi TC - just use either 3rd party hardware adapter [usb-midi] or software based converter apps.
