  • We entered the Plop Enduro - Honda C90 Racing at the Anglesey race track in September 2021. My friend Peter Darke owns and manages the Darkside Race team and invited me to ride for him at this event.
S&D Armarda MCC organises the PLOP Enduro events as a fun day on bikes that are not going to break the bank. The events raise money for charity and good causes yet at the same time allowing access to top tracks for hours of fun filled riding.

Looks incredible fun! Last time I raced at Angelsey was 2007 at a Bemsee Supermoto event! I would like to get into this as a bit of fun! Had several C90's as a kid, we raced them around Kings wood near Leeds Castle in Kent! Brilliant times! Never had a Playstation or Xbox, like the kids today.....!!!! Great to see my age of men still reminiscing being a free kid in the 70's and 80's! Chapeau!

The absolute short-range commuter special! I had a pale blue one with the polypropylene leg guards in the early 80's. 120MPG but definitely no motorway cruiser (though I have heard of many who went camping with their Cub, and long distances too!)

Used to love these bikes as a kid could crash them all day long and they would still go lol, they go for good money now for a nice clean original one

This looks awesome. What speeds can these Cubs reach? I’m assuming 60-70mph.

Some perhaps, but not ours, which has an unmodified engine. Some people spend thousands tuning them.

We used to have them as kids for playing on fields they went 60mph with no wind in front of ya but that was the max

55 mostly but 60 is possible with a tailwind and tucked over the bars

Testing the endurance of a steppy 90 on a flat road doesn’t really prove anything…
In the 90s our one was a pit bike that we ragged everywhere, drove it ghost rider up jumps and off 20ft drop offs and into ponds..
We just couldn’t kill the thing it kept running no matter how much we abused it..😂

you've totally missed the point. It's not about testing anything. it's a charity event that allows people to experience riding on some great race tracks without having to spend a fortune.

Could say the same.. my comment wasn’t about mugging off what your doing and if it is a charity event good on you..
my comment was more about the indestructibility of the steppy 90 and the fun we had with it as we couldn’t afford a cr125 etc we were in a budget of pocket money took 3 of us two months to buy it for £60

personally I'd question the psychology of someone who saved their pocket money to buy something of value - then did everything they could to destroy it.. together with the 'doesn’t really prove anything' - comment sounds like you're in the wrong place..
