I’ve always been so grateful you began a CZcams channel! I remember only seeing you and your work in magazines. What a creative adventure the two of you are having since you established Arne & Carlo in 2001. Your sit and knit for a bit has been a happy and very enjoyable knit or crochet time for me. And what fun I had cooking up the old favorite Norwegian recipes from your Christmas baking a few years ago. I have some treasured recipes, and it was fantastic to see and try yours, as well as hearing your hints, as some ingredients here in Canada are quite different.
I’ve been watching on CZcams since you began! You seem like good friends to me now, even though we have never even met. So thank you for all these lovely creative moments of calm, fun and crafting adventures that have given me some very welcome delight.
I didn't think I had room for one more project before Christmas 2023, but after watching your advent videos for a couple of days, I remembered the joy I had when I knit your "House" stocking in 2021 for my husband. It turned out very large and he loves it because he gets so many presents! Arne & Carlos was established in 2002. Thanks for all the joy and fun you give us. I'm also knitting your Mini Nordic Jumpers for gifts.
Arne&Carlos, I do enjoy “visiting with you both. I smile as I think about your grandmother’s vinyl record with the accordion players, the Tomte Gubbars. My husband’s Scandinavian parents and grandparents loved accordian music. His grandmother and Uncle we’re fine Polska dancers. Then your story about Annie Lennox and the mother to mother program. You have accomplished so much since registering your business in 2002! I am proud to have come to know you.
I loved seeing the vintage albums. I also found myself wondering if Annie Lennox knits, given that she is Scottish. A google search revealed this quote from her - “I watch 'Mad Men,' I knit scarves, I cook and am very, very normal. Honestly.” Thanks for this fun project, Arne and Carlos (est 2001).

Arne and Carlos, I'm happy to have gotten you here. I love how dynamic your work is, one that clearly goes beyond being a passion for creating. I live in Maracaibo, one of the hottest cities in a tropical country like Venezuela; and although I will never use one of my creations to keep me warm outside, I do not give up on my passion to continue knitting sweaters, since, in contrast, the temperatures in any area that is not outdoors usually have very very low temperatures. There are not many yarn stores here, and I am sure that the variety of textures and colors available there is infinite, which is why I was excited to think about having the possibility of knitting a sweater with a yarn that travels. direct from Norway to Maracaibo. So having done my little research to participate in the contest, I can tell you with complete confidence that the company Arne & Carlos was founded in 2001. Arne and Carlos was founded in 2001. You are the first people my age I have met who like vinal. My husband (Ron) was born in the same year as Arne, and I learned in a recent episode that I was born in the same year as Carlos. After years of listening to CDC and iTunes, my husband won a turn table in a drawing. This is not one of those that changes itself. So, basically you have to flip the record every 15-20 minutes, at least for the old vinal we have. We also were not thrilled with the crackly noise -- sounded too much like the car radio when you are between. stations. But, super glad you love it, and I am sure I will get a lot of flack for this comment. Conversation welcome -- we still have the turn table and the vinal. And, of course I really appreciate the strength of your relationship, and I think it is sweet that you do so much together.

Today I learned needles make a difference. I was having trouble with my tension - I switched to aluminum double points (Chiagoo)- my tension is back to normal. I usually use bamboo. Glad I switched. Will have more fun now. ❤ these daily reveals and your joyfilled stories.

We had a Wombles Christmas vinyl record when I was younger (The Wombles were cartoon characters on television - but we didn’t have a television until my Grandad gave us his old one when I was about 12 years old). I remember singing along “We wish you a wombling merry Christmas” - lovely memories.

Another opportunity to tell you how much I am enjoying the KAL this Advent. The inclusion of the HEART motif is just lovely. I am not a great fairisle knitter but this challenge is what I needed. I am using both left and right hands to work the two colours and catching the floats is so easy as you knit. For the competition I must say my research tells me Arne and Carlos united in business in 2001 andd lanche their label in 2002. Good luck to all the participants
Really enjoying knitting the stocking and love your choices for Christmas music. I have the Elvis album and have played it for years and my Mom & Dad had the Connie Francis one and I am lucky to have it in my collection now. Music takes me right back to when I first heard the song.

My favorite Christmas albums are Mannheim Steamroller, they are instrumentally magnificent. Thanks for giving me incentive to quit work for the day so I can sit down and watch a christmas movie while I sit and knit my 6 rows. This has really been an enjoyable advent.

I love seeing your records! My first Christmas album was BoneyM and I love their song Mary's Boy Child. I sing along every time I hear it. Our family's favourite Christmas album has always been (from way back into my childhood) Roger Whitaker's A Time For Peace. His whistling is brilliant. I will be looking for Annie Lennox's album now. I didn't know she had one! Yay! You completely surprised me with the switch of colours in the stocking. I was thinking for sure it would be either green and red or green and white. How special to be able to relive that experience with Annie Lennox every time you hear her holiday record. :) I'm with Arne -- I love Christmas music and I have it playing in the house as early as feels appropriate (to me -- not my husband, lol). It just makes the cold days (rainy and gray here in the PNW) so much cozier! Thank you for sharing your holiday vinyls with us.
Such wonderful suggestions for entertainment during my Christmas cookie baking sessions. I already listened to Annie Lennox and Elvis today. And there will be many more sessions like this, as in southern Germany we are pretty crazy with Christmas baking. I never can imagine that all this cookies will be eaten, but it happens every year.

Carlos, I truly understand how you feel having to leave Arne. While caring for my mother, I had to leave my “buddy” (nickname for my husband) more than I wanted. Then the final two months, he was there almost daily. The final two weeks he was there constantly. So Arne, we you have to step up to the plate, I’m sure you will be there.
Carlos, sometimes someone needs you more. Believe me when I tell you, you will always cherish the time you sit and hold your mother’s hand. She knows you are there❤️
