KO servo & gyro combo the best !
Other combinations work well, but the KO Propo/OD combination is next level!
@@RCPACE Yes, I drove this GRK chassis last Sunday and it's really fantastic! So smooth and easy to control. The cost performance is 200% !
Can't wait to test mine!
Hope you like it!
I have the older pre built version and it was great out of box. Nice review James
Thank you!
I love my grk evo! I to aswell have a kopro combo in mine and it’s awesome.
Nice!!
Very good review! Hope to see more of this down in the future.
More to come!
I just bought one with flexible carbon deck from grk also with gear diff and gear reduction first drift test in friday at NRD
Some nice upgrades that really improve the chassis!
*Thank you for sharing this great video! 👍👍👍*
Cool informative video man!
Next time you're up at ratrap will you be bringing this up?
Really want to have a look at how you've built it up now haha
Yes, I'm on track again on Saturday!
Thank you for the super informative video!!! I wasn't considering a GRK before, however now I feel like I need one lolol
Glad it was helpful!
Thanks for the detail and love the quality of your videos. Keep 'em coming!
Thank you!
Great video man! Definitely looking into this chassis as a side to my MC1. Looks like a great platform and I hope more people hop on them.
such a nice review!! going to definately get one asap
You should!
Good review! I like the new studio setup as well :)
Hey, nice vid,
I am building my gs2 evo and I was wondering what esc mount you used? Is that wrapup 0458-FD?
I believe that’s the one many used. A simple plate with standoffs works fine but the Shibata option part works perfectly if you can source one
Have you tried a GS2 Evo yet? What did you think?
Pretty cool review. When you installed the new gear ratio, did you had to re adjust the shims for the backlash? Thanks
Yes, you will need to ensure its smooth and not too tight or loose. When installing the gear diff you also need a lot of shims! I think up to 1.6mm is required on the stock case!
@@RCPACE ok thanks. I bought a reduction bevel gear (13T) and a ball diff. Unfortunately can't find any specs on how to setup them up. Did you follow any Shibata instructions or you just did it by feeling? Thanks
Absolutely love the video. Ordered my chassis because of this. Just have a question about the dampers.
I oredered the shibata 5.1 springs and the alloy damper upgraded. Just wondering how you set up your dampers. With the springs. My chassis drags on the ground even with the adjustment all the way down.
Also got the gear diff just need shims to fit ot
I run them with a little pre-load, but not much. Which pistons and oil are you using?
what are the torque effects of placing the motor in the this orientation, id imagine it would roll to one side a bit more on throttle punches thus the left and right drifts will have a slightly different feeling? am i wrong in my thought process?
This chassis does not utilise motor torque so you're right in that it can upset the balance of the car in extreme cases. However the reality is that unless you run insane motor, ESC and FDR settings it is a smooth chassis to run. It's an old school layout but is fun to drift rather than being super competitive etc
Just ordered this chassis sir, what gear diff did you install sir? Ty!
I use the one designed for the chassis from Shibata! We are out of stock right now but you can find them on our shop here: rcpace.com/shibata-grk-gear-differential-set.html
What diff did you use James, is there a crossover from Yokomo or similar? Looking at doing a similar thing where we set up identical chassis.
Used the GRK gear diff. It works well and can be used on all the gear options.

Did you ever change the lower ballstud to try and achieve more droop? Something I'm looking at doing on mine wondering if it helped at all?
Yes and it helped a bit! Others have cut the chassis but if you install the Premium carbon decks then it is not a problem. It drives great with a shorter ball stud on the stock chassis deck!
@@RCPACE good to know, ballstud seems like a decent almost free upgrade but i guess any reason to buy carbon decks is worth it
How does it stack up against the grk4?
It's very good. I haven't got on with the GRK 4 as well as the GS2 Evo but some of that is down to Futaba gyro/servo issues meaning I am constantly troubleshooting but that should be fixed soon! I rate the GS2 Evo VERY highly and will be making a follow-up video fairly soon!
@@RCPACE I remember you choosing the galm over the GRK4, waiting on your followup video! 🙏
I've been running GALM since they launched but still choose GALM over everything, it's an incredible machine
What are your front turn buckle specs becuase when o built mine the toe outbin the front was massive
Everything was built as the manual states. Chances are you made a mistake somewhere using the wrong turnbuckles in the wrong place or wrong holes on the rack etc
