  • "Think You Can't Sing? Think Again!" (www.thinkyoucantsing.com) is a book by Richard Swan, aimed at dispelling the myths around tone-deafness and inability to sing. As the director of huge non-audition choir London City Voices, Richard frequently meets people who have been told that they cannot sing, but who just need a little bit of tuition to start hitting the right notes. He has never yet met someone who he hasn't been able to teach. There is over 90 minutes of video in this series which Richard has made completely free for anyone to use, but they will make far more sense if you do purchase the book. Enjoy, and do please spread the word!
There are two versions of this video, this one for high voices (generally, but not exclusively, women) and the other for lower voices (again, generally, but not exclusively, men). If in doubt, try both and go with whichever you're more comfortable with - it's only three minutes long!
In the lesson, Richard shows you how to go about matching the pitch that he is singing, really focusing on aiming carefully.
