This was realized during Covid, when everyone already felt the world--and themselves--were going mad. Gave it extra meaning. I still get chills.

I think my favorite point in the music video is kirstin's solo. where she sings with an almost deadpan face until she sings "the best ive ever had" with a smile. I dont know. it just fits the whole thing. that dreaming of such a dark thing is the one thing she smiles at through it all.
One of the perfect songs they put out in the Covid year of 2020. The other one was Thank You from their Christmas album of that year.

The duet sounds of Matt and Mitch are a treat!
Hard to believe that this song started life as a bit of a peppy 80's pop tune by Tears for Fears before it was covered in 2003 to it's current haunting version by Gary Jules. It was a brilliant cover that Pentatonix have redone here to make it even more haunting to fit into the lyrics.
within the first few seconds of this song, i am getting goosebumps, and almost the entire song, its making me emotional and bringing tears to my eyes

The whispy imagery also harkens back to the movie “Donnie Darko” which definitely enhanced the popularity of this song when it came out. It’s definitely a weird and haunting movie, but should definitely be viewed once by everyone.

when i was a very angsty teen the version of mad world by adam lambert was my favorite song... years later i still love this song and pentatonix' version
I have always thought/felt the "Ghost" images in the background, were those people running in circles, to go grocery shopping, pay bills, run those errands that never completely get finished. PTX just flipped the script, usually those people are in the foreground, and the singers in the background. But here the song, the singers were the attraction, not the people.

This is also one of my favorite songs/videos of theirs. I think the coupling of Matt and Mitch’s voices was wonderful. I hope that they have more duet spots that feature these two.
Pentatonix is THE TOP tier in making you feel all the feelings of a song. There is no other group like them. The way they tell the story of the song and make you feel all the emotions of that song are unmatched. This is one of their best. Thanks for the reaction.

Not the 1st time listening for me, but my goosebumps still get goosebumps. Some of my favorite PTX songs are ones where Kevin sings. That extra voice & note adds so much more than just one voice. It's a multiplier.

I LOVE this one as well and agree with all you said. Matt and Mitch= a perfect “Match” 💜. A super catchy original song that I just heard for the first time (!) even though it’s old (2015) is called Na Na Na (audio-only). It IS one to play on repeat in your car after you’ve listened to Mad World and want to raise your spirits 😁. Highly recommend it.
My favourite parts are the Matt/Mitch harmonies. I don't know why they sound so amazing together, but they do!

I knew you would love this one! Hey, did yo 10:30 u know the original is by Tears for Fears, released in the 80's. Gary Jules covered it many years afterwards & that version is what most ppl think is the original. I know this because A. I am old(ish😉) and B. I was always a TFF fan. Fun fact: The TFF version is very upbeat! It's great in its own right. But Ptx just made me love their cover better! MOOR PTX PLEASE!🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏

Luke, I really wish you can react to Ichigo Production live concert next. There are five songs in total; Heart Kiss, Full Moon, Star T Rain, Idol and Sign Wa B, all sang by the voice actors of the anime. You can find them on Oshi No Ko Official CZcams Channel. Definitely one of the best live concert I ever watch. It's like B-Komachi really do exist, not just a fictional idol group in anime. I really hope you will react to them soon🙏. The original is actually an upbeat pop song from the 80’s by Tears for Fears
It may be, but that means little, the Gary Jules version is the one people know, similar to "Girl's just want to have fun" originally being done by Robert Hazard but being associated with Cyndi Lauper.

This was one I loved right from the first few seconds of listening to it. I'd heard Tears For Fears original and the sort of ordinary/sorta happy vibe they used for the video confused me. The lyrics didn't seem to match. This cover is astounding!! It gave me goosebumbs right from the beginning. The visuals are so smart and chilling in the intensity and the haunting atmosphere they portray. Finally, there is a video that matches the depressing, haunting lyrics.

This was recorded during Covid, so all done seperate of one another. That's also the reason for the simple, but haunting, background. I love that at the very end the characters are going backward.

They did this one towards the beginning of the pandemic, so all filmed separately. Agreed, it's a brilliant arrangement and video concept. I don't think you've done any of Scott Hoying's solo work yet (just Superfruit and other collaborations). He just dropped a new video a couple days ago for one of the songs from the EP he put out last summer. This one is "Bubs", a hauntingly beautiful tribute to the puppy that he and Mark lost early last year to a rare aggressive cancer. All of his own solo work is beautiful ( a lot of it is love songs to Mark 🥰), but this one hits in a different way. The other new solo he put out a few weeks ago, "Flaunt It" is a completely different vibe-very up-beat, build up your confidence type of song!

PTX actually has a faster version of Mad World, though without a video. I prefer this version though.
