To vote in who? Both sides are controlled by the same entity. And Zappa knew that.
Right on Gail, you rock just like Frank, R.I.P., both of you, Rock on Dewizil.
Democracy has to be redefined ...i am Dutch but i can't say i am living in a democracy. Wish you all well,Sylvia.
exactly/go fz my friend,n miss u dearly
🦌 Thank You;
At the same time it's not like everyone can just choose where their taxes go.
hey i heard him say that in 1969
thank you
Voting although I agree with Gail is necessary, but it is the least effective method for change. Grass roots organizing has to be done. You can't make change without being involved steadily, it has to be part of your life. You can't turn it on every two or four years for a day and expect anything except to be controlled.

Sorry about the "D'oh", no offence meant. It was just that I had heard teh Romney speech about undoing "Roe vs. Wade" so much on the TV last night that this hit me at an opportune time.
Although this is clearly an important part of the discussion in the election, I think that FZ's real intent was simply to ensure that people take part in their hard word democracy and just get up and exercise their vote.
Come on people, she is making a very important point here, I suppose it's only been up one day so far, but only 26 views?
gail I miss frank. ALOT.
It is ironic that we talk about exporting democracy to other countries (quite rightly) yet the voter turnout in the US (and other democracies) is so pathetically small.
What we need is to steal the Nike slogan: "Just VOTE!"
My view has always been if you con't vote you have no right to complain aftrewards ;-)
In America we assume democracy. . .
You know what happens when you assume don't you ?
Trump.
nobody is perfect . Zappa said at least one bullshit .... Democracy 😂😂😂😂
To make change, I agree, that one must be active from the street and into the voting booth. BUT lets not fool ourselves in the USA. We do NOT live in a democracy. One must look to western European countries to see true representative democracies. They have proportional voting leading to most citizens having a voice in the government. In the USA almost no one has a voice in government and accountable representatives.
Every single president has been appointed at a Pancake Breakfast!
If you vote you're a Dancin' Fool!
Your vote is like Yellow Snow!
Don't be a Dirty Eskimo!
The Torture Never Stops!
Zoot Allures!
Black Napkins!
Okay, now i'm just naming Frank Zappa songs...
EL*o*EL 🎸🙄🎸
Oh yeah... Gail was an asshole! 😢
By the way, in the lasy oh say 10 years has anyone seen a decent candidate running for president? na me neither!
Personnaly we always kept ZTF out of our pants in France
Gail, Let Jazzmen Cover Zappa Music all Over The World..
that's the only real artistic democraty !!!
All the rest is bulls**t !!!
;-c
I figured zappa was an anarchist or voluntaryist, the quote should be shortened to "democracy doesn't work." mob rule is no way to run any society, the reality is we don't need psychopaths running our social structures, and we don't need the majority telling the minorities how they should live. no person has the right to tell another person what to do with threat of violence which is all the govenrment is, a monopoly of violence. thanks for trying to help but the reality is society is being pulled apart by politics and identitarianism. small self governed intentional communities are the only real solution to all this
I think Romney is FAR worse, but shouldn't we, at some point, start voting for someone who reflects our actual values rather than it always being a selection between horrid and more horrid? I think a vote for Romney is a vote for everything wrong with our country, but the alternative is BARELY better. How's about someone who will actually represent the people and not the bankers and corporations, which they BOTH clearly do?
Ramjet Boner Conch What do you think of this, now that Romney has become one of Trump's most outspoken GOP critics?
TRUMP 2024 ♥
Then don't vote Democrat.
Frank registered 11,000 or so young people to vote back in the 80's, but during an interview with Jane Pauley he stated "Kind of seemed like a waste of time, didn't it?"
