Former Yes lead singer Jon Anderson hangs out in the Garage and talks about his first car, his new album and the great story of when he first joined Yes!
YES, blow my mind when I was young. I know that this music still flows through my blood today. I thank you for so many years of inspiration. RIP Chris.
Sept. 2018 Amazing...A fan since the 70's, And, it was a pleasure listening to ''the voice'', and quite interesting to learn (some ) of the derivation of Roundabout...''Mountains come out of the sky''.....
Love you Jon. I could write out all the beautiful phrases from 'Love is the only answer' to 'Here we are, trying to mend all the broken hearts' and beyond. I hear you now mate.
Iv been listening to everyone who came to yes over the last 50 years and everyone says the fist time they heard yes it was so profound it had a major effect on there life same with me it was Wonderous stories coming into the british chats in 77 I Ilistenened I I stopped I was captured
Yeah, Jon Davidson is an okay singer and he can hit all the notes, but he doesn't even hold a candle to Jon Anderson ! As far as I'm concerned, Jon Anderson will always be the voice of Yes!
@@donutcookiepie LOL. Jon is a very spiritual guy. You can't fake that. He has been known to be a control freak but I doubt he's a negative guy. However, maybe you can give me specific(and recent)examples of him being a hothead and prove me wrong. I don't deny he has had issues with other musicians over the years but I think for the most part he has mellowed out in recent years.
Seems like one of the most unlikely candidates to interview a guy like Jon. But he does a great job! (I hate it when interviewers act all star-struck.) Well done!!
Some of his best songs are "Boundaries", "Hear It", and those made with the late Vangelis, "State of Independence", "Friends of Mr. Cairo", and "I'll Find My Way Home".
Will there be a second JLP/Anderson Band CD? "Better late than never" is more like a live set. Jon says he and Steve traveled from Aberdeen to Glasgow. Funny but, here in Nova Scotia there is a hospital called Aberdeen in New Glasgow, N.S. Kind of geographical heritage.
Jon mentioned the "Speakeasy"! It reminded me of my time in Hong Kong in 1978 (with work, not a tourist). We used to go to a club called Speakeasy! On sitting down two glasses and a huge jug of beer was put on the table. The entertainment was by who ever wanted to get up on stage, both amateur and professional! Anybody out there remember that club and is it still going, that is since us Brits gave HK back to China?
Think there's something wrong with my speaker system... I've got a voice in the top range and a voice in the bottom range, but there's nothing in the middle at all.
I hope it's not another reconfigure of yes or union. They're supposed to be recording new music. It would be great if Bill Bruford tours with them, and account if guitar ? Maybe Steve Howe will see the writing in the wall - AWR can be a new entity depending on the new music.
+Larry Fulmer No Bill Bruford- Bill has been retired since 2009. Steve Howe writing on the wall? Why not just call him yourself and tell him the nice thoughts you have for him now ...
Never met starve Howe- met Jon Anderson twice, Alan white once and Chris squire after his concert with the Syn. But I'll let you call him . I read that Steve Howe was not very ereceptive about sharing the stage with Trevor Rabin. Actually I could care less anymore. I saw some of the top concarts of all time- before ticket prices got outrageous: First David Bowie USA tour Ziggy Stardust 1972 First Genesis USA tour 1972 About 30 yes tours since 1974 incl.symphonic About 6 pink floyd tours since 1975 including The Wall ( one of only 30 live shows world wide WINGS Over America and Paul McCartnery '92 and '93. And the total price of all those shows is probably less than what you'll pay for a concet to see a major tour ie McCartney, Billy Joel, Rolling Stones ( saw thin in 72 and 78. I'm still into Rock and Roll, I'm just not as big of a concert goer . Must be middle age.
Much respect to you Jon and thanks for the awesome music you have given us. But seriously, when you released Owner of a Lonely Heart, did nobody in Yes have any idea that you had left millions of Yes fans with an identity crisis. You were asking us to come down from Close to the Edge, Going 4 the 1, Topographic Oceans, Relayer to Owner of a Lonely Heart!!!. I mean really!!! I mean we were being asked to convert eg from the Debussyesque Soundchaser to an average pop song. I remember well discussing it with my circle of mates during Uni days in the early 80s. We could not handle it!!!!
No, no, no, no. That was a million miles away. Here in the desert "mountains come out of the sky and stand there." during summer monsoon. They're NEVER part of a frontal system . . . oh no. The humidity is there . . . but they require gradient differences (elevation) to condense and become "mountains".
Jon is so sweet. I aspire to be more like him. His love for music is so deep. Thanks Uncle Joe! And... thanks Jon!
Funny watching a real low voice guy interview a real high voice guy.
Of course the highest gap voices
YES, blow my mind when I was young. I know that this music still flows through my blood today. I thank you for so many years of inspiration. RIP Chris.
Never thought his voice was that high.
One of the best interviews I have seen with Jon Anderson
Sept. 2018

Jon, Great singer. JON today, YES today, Tomorrow never knows...
Good interview. I feel that this guy is a real fan. Very respectful.
Love you Jon. I could write out all the beautiful phrases from 'Love is the only answer' to 'Here we are, trying to mend all the broken hearts' and beyond. I hear you now mate.
That was the best interview with Jon ever ! Short and sweet...great interviewer with good questions . Learned a lot !
A great man. So many accomplishments. Real old school.
Great interview! Love Yes - love Jon! Miss all the main Yes men together.
What a legend. He's made so many great albums.
Iv been listening to everyone who came to yes over the last 50 years and everyone says the fist time they heard yes it was so profound it had a major effect
on there life same with me it was Wonderous stories coming into the british chats in 77 I Ilistenened I I stopped I was captured
YES changed what I expected to experience from a show. The Solos Tour.. amazing stage
I take great pride as a scotsman that Roundabout was written in Scotland coming from Aberdeen to Glasgow 🤘🏴
Always good to see Jon interviewed. Well done Uncle Joe
Former lead singer? Not ! The only lead singer /front man for YES !!
Yeah, Jon Davidson is an okay singer and he can hit all the notes, but he doesn't even hold a candle to Jon Anderson ! As far as I'm concerned, Jon Anderson will always be the voice of Yes!
Yes is better off w/o Anderson's negative energy. That whole love and light thing is just bullshit on his part. Anyone who knows him knows that.
@@donutcookiepie LOL. Jon is a very spiritual guy. You can't fake that. He has been known to be a control freak but I doubt he's a negative guy. He's not the only singer Yes has had. Jon is my favorite but even I will acknowledge their other singers.
Very much enjoyed the interview! Jon & Jean Luc are on tour now. So happy to see he'll be practically in my backyard in Northampton,MA in May!
Seems like one of the most unlikely candidates to interview a guy like Jon. But he does a great job! (I hate it when interviewers act all star-struck.) Well done!!
My guess would be that he has known Jon for a long time.
The great Jon
Loved it! Cool interview!
Great interview!
All the love for Jon
Finally, a video that captures both my love of cars and my love of Yes.
Wonderful man!
Very sweet and down to earth.
Great interview
Saudades de Jon Anderson
Jon Anderson is such a sweet guy.
Jon,You are always in my heart...most beautiful voice on the planet.
Such a nice guy. On a genuine level.
Jon Anderson. I love this guy. Why. ‘Cos he is so positively enthusiastic. Always
🙏❤️🙏

Thanks Uncle Joe.
Monster voice in interviewing. Female voice speaking in left.
Accrington Stanley promoted to League One after beating Yeovil Town. Jon will be happy.
Jon Anderson THE VOICE. THE MASTER. FOREVER YES!!!🎤🎤🎤
Jon -Jean...nice collaboration.
Jon Anderson seems like such a good man. I'd like to have a conversation with him.
Love this man. Yes without him and Chris is only "Maybe"
Jon mentioned the "Speakeasy"! It reminded me of my time in Hong Kong in 1978 (with work, not a tourist). We used to go to a club called Speakeasy! Actually an elf man omg I hope he had a good day. I hope he HAS a good day.
If I am interviewing Jon Anderson 2 songs I would not be asking about would be Owner and Roundabout. Come on Joe!
+Jeremy S. must not like money
+Jag Mag You don't make any sense.
And let's not forget "all good people" I love Yes but I'm so sick of that tune .
I agree. It's probably all about reaching the audience who is less familiar with Yes, than it is their hard fans.
I never get tired of any Yes Music
Go jon. Love you Uttsita
Favorite singer right here. I think he’s a Pagan
I still have Uncle Joes record guide(the progressive rock volume)that features YES in it. Anyway, great interview.
Love his accent
His Accrington accent is really strong here.
Hey Jon ,- how you doing??!!
Think there's something wrong with my speaker system... I've got a voice in the top range and a voice in the bottom range, but there's nothing in the middle at all.
Anderson Rabin and Wakeman coming soon!
I hope it's not another reconfigure of yes or union. They're supposed to be recording new music. It would be great if Bill Bruford tours with them, and account if guitar ? Maybe Steve Howe will see the writing in the wall - AWR can be a new entity depending on the new music.

the addition of starve, steve howe was the best thing that happened to yes, besides the addition of rick wakeman.
What does Anderson do with his hair?
Only 5 shows in and they got to open for Cream's final show. You lucky bastards.
"Jon, do you wanna hear these songs?"
"Yes, Christopher?" 😂😂😂😂😂
Much respect to you Jon and thanks for the awesome music you have given us. My question is do they know about the meme
Lol
(y)
Jeremy your mother is calling you
No, no, no, no, loco-motive breath. "Jon-ee stole the Handel . . . " Fragile. Handle with care.
They do not have enough money to record an album?
No, no, no, no. That was a million miles away. Here in the desert "mountains come out of the sky and stand there." during summer monsoon. They're NEVER part of a frontal system . . . oh no. M
marketing done well
The older Jon gets the more elven he becomes. He's almost full on Keebler at this point.
the
Sounds like Winnie the pooh
the best Yes is 90125
before sometime was he a woman ?
owner is crap compared to the amazing works of all the other works of art they created. Hello?!
Love 'YES " since 74...but Jon has always talked nonsense.
