    Hi. Thank you so much for such an informative review. Most of the CZcams reviews are for the 1300x so yours really helped a lot of us.
    After doing extensive research on soundbars available in India, it looks like the two main contenders for Atmos are this JBL 1300 and the Samsung Q990C.
    As you know it is very difficult to get a demo of the Samsung model in India. Even if one does manage to (eg. Croma), there is no actual demo room so you cannot really tell how good the system is. If you could make a comparison video between the two, that would benefit a lot of us. And if you do decide to, please emphasise on the subwoofers & Bass. Thank you.

    • @RONTEK
      @RONTEK  Před rokem

      Thank you for your sweet comment. Unfortunately, I don't have access to the Q990B. So, I won't be able to make a comparison video. But based on the specs and reviews, I can say that the JBL one is better suited for a bigger room as it has higher sound output and more powerful bass. But the Samsung System is technically slightly superior as it produces slightly better sound. One thing that is missing on the Samsung sound bar is lack of Chromecast support. If you're an Android user, this can be a big turn off.
      You can also consider Sony HT-A9 system. While it is not a sound bar, its flexibility makes it as easy to setup as a soundbar. And because it doesn't have to fit under a TV, it uses bigger drivers producing richer sound. It is usually considered to be the best Dolby Atmos Setup unless you're going for a dedicated Multi-Speaker Dolby Atmos System with an AV Receiver. Also, it has support for all streaming services unlike Samsung and supports Hi Res and Lossless Audio codecs like LDAC which both Samsung and JBL lack.

      But just FYI, I bought the JBL 1300. It is fantastic!! My bedroom is around 250sqft and this thing fills the entire room with amazing sound.
      The subwoofer is powerful, shakes the windows and you can feel the bass.
      The Samsung subwoofer was not so great. It had bass you could hear but not enough to feel. I managed to get a demo for both the products in the end.

    • @RONTEK
      @RONTEK  Před 11 měsíci

      I can't give an accurate answer without testing the Q990C, but based on the specs, JBL has an advantage in terms of sheer output wattage. Also, JBL has chromecast support, which Samsung lacks. So, if you're an android user, that'll be a big inconvenience if you opt for samsung... atleast for listening to music.
      But as per many reviews of the Q990C, the sound fidelity of samsung is slightly superior.
      But as both of them are top of the line offerings, you won't be disappointed by either of them.

    • @RONTEK

      That's my main criticism with these speakers. You get end caps for the sound bar but not for the rear speakers. So, when you've the rear speakers detached from the Soundbar, the rear speakers have exposed pins with no way to cover them up.

      Sorry, I'm not sure whether I understood your question properly or not. From what I understood, if you're asking about the impact of the end caps being attached to the soundbar, there is no degradation of sound as the end caps have a mesh grill to let the sound through it. However, if you're asking about covering the soundbar with dust cover, I wouldn't recommend it as it'll muffle the sound and also affect the surround sound effect created by the side and top facing speakers.
      The soundbar is designed in a way that dust cannot enter it. You just need to clean it with a cloth from time to time to remove the dust settled on top of it.

    • @BluKiro
      @BluKiro Před rokem

      @@RONTEK what makes the 1300 superior? I currently own the 9.1 and I’m thinking of upgrading 🤔

    • @RONTEK
      @RONTEK  Před rokem +1

      Ok, first of all, the bar 1300 surround speakers can be charged via a type c cable. So, if someone wants to permanently mount the rear speakers and power them, that's now possible with 1300.
      But the real upgrade is in surround sound experience. The rear speakers of 9.1 only have 1 tweeter each for rear channels. Tweeters are only good for producing high-frequency sounds. The 1300 rear speakers have a race track driver, a tweeter, and a passive radiator for full body sound. So, the rear speakers sound just as good as the main soundbar.
      Also, the main soundbar has a lot more race track drivers, tweeters, and 2 more upward firing full range speakers. These speakers bounce sounds in different directions to create an immersive 360° surround sound experience.
      So, for example, in top gun maverick, when a fighter jet flies off the screen or comes into the screen, you can accurately track its sound path. Compared to a 5.1.4 channel system like the bar 9.1, the movement of object from front to rear or vice versa is very seamless as you get 6 additional side channels with the bar 1300.
      Also, the bar 1300 has one of the most convincing height channels. It literally feels like I've speakers mounted in my ceiling.
      Obviously, these advantages can only be experienced with Dolby Atmos content. Standard 5.1 channel content will sound more or less on par on both 9.1 and 1300

    • @BluKiro
      @BluKiro Před rokem

      @@RONTEK I do find the 9.1 seem to lack height channels even at max Atmos volume, so this sounds like a great upgrade to me. I’ll have to check it out in my local store. Thank you very much for the detailed summary!

    Hi bro, greetings from Australia.. I reckon, u might be the only one in India to have a vid on this dragon. One question, don’t know if u are tech geek . JBL 2.1 deep bass has a 6.5’” transducer and produces 300W output. JBL 1300 has 10” transducer and also produces 300W output. I am a very very very “bass centric” person. Could you advise why is the difference , what is the difference and also if there is a physical sound punch between the two? Could u please make a video if u can technically handle to answer it ?

    • @RONTEK
      @RONTEK  Před rokem +7

      Interesting question.
      Ok, first of all, the JBL Bar 2.1 has a total output of 300W, of which 200W is for the subwoofer, and 100W is for the Soundbar.
      In the case of Bar 1300, 300W is dedicated to the subwoofer only.
      So, in terms of output power, there will be a big difference.
      Coming to the topic of driver size vs watts, both are important but for different reasons.
      I'm not an expert in this department, but I do have some basic understanding.
      The way a subwoofer works is that the driver cone oscillates (moves up and down) at the frequency, which matches the sound frequency it is trying to produce.
      So basically, watts determine how much power is sent to the driver for its movement.
      And the cone size or the driver size impacts the amount of air being displaced by the oscillating movement. With a bigger cone size, more air is displaced, creating a larger impact. But if enough power is not supplied to a big cone, it won't be able to move at a good frequency, resulting in less punchy bass.
      So, matching watts with driver size is important.
      Normally, a 6-7" driver is paired with 150-200w and 10-12" drivers are paired with 300-500w of power.
      But these are not the only things that should be taken into consideration.
      The frequency range of any speaker system is also very important. Human hearing capability is from 20Hz to 20,000Hz(20KHz).
      Your JBL Bar 2.1 can go only as low as 40Hz. So, it cannot reproduce very low frequencies (sub bass) properly. In comparison, JBL bar 1300 can go as low as 33Hz so it can produce lower frequencies better.
      Other things to factor in include size and position of bass reflex port and subwoofer enclosure size, shape, and materials used.

    • @susmusmanoj112
      @susmusmanoj112 Před rokem +1

      @@RONTEK hats off .. that's so classy explanation ! And so easy to decipher ..
      The thing which I missed in here is that all the below JBL sound bar 1300, 1000, 800, 550 etc have exactly the same 300W sub woofer with exactly 10" transducer. What's the difference between the 4 sub bass .. as in the specifications all are exactly the same , all produce exactly the same sound frequencies and all have exactly the same components and exactly same size.. 😬😬😬😬😬

    • @RONTEK
      @RONTEK  Před rokem +2

      Thanks for appreciating 😊
      All the new JBL Soundbars use the same 10" 300W subwoofer. It's a win-win for both the manufacturer as well as the consumer.
      JBL gets to produce the same subwoofer at scale, thereby reducing the unit cost. Also, it streamlines the inventory as they don't have to manage multiple SKUs.
      And for consumers, even mid level jbl bar 500 and 800 consumers get to enjoy the thump of a big subwoofer.
      Nowadays, brands are switching to this common subwoofer system. Even Sony has 2 subwoofers, which are compatible with all their soundbars. You can choose which one to get based on your budget and room size.
      Now, the only major difference between the new JBL lineup is the Dolby Atmos effect. And that's a big one as once you experience the real dolby atmos effect, it's difficult to go back to just front facing sound or virtual surround sound.

    Hey mate. Excellent overview of the JBL Bar 1300 soundbar. It's an explosive yet a very expensive piece of tech. I guess it's better to wait for tye price to drop when JBL releases a newer model or if they decide to discontinue this model.
    For a budget of 30-40K, which soundbar would you recommend? I'm going to install the soundbar in a 150 Sq. Ft. Room so not sure if a very powerful soundbar will make much sense. I would like to have Dolby Atmos effects but don't want to spend a lot.
    Here are the options I'm considering (going from low to high):
    - LG SH7Q 5.1 Soundbar: 18K
    - Zebronics 9750 Pro 5.1.2 Soundbar: 19K
    - Yamaha YAS 209 2.1 Soundbar: 25K
    - Philips TAB8967 5.1.2 Soundbar: 37K
    - JBL Bar 5.1 Soundbar: 39K
    - JBL Bar 500 Pro Soundbar: 46K
    Some of the JBL soundbars are going above the budget but the bass is incredible with the 10" Woofer.
    Which one will you recommend or do you have some other recommendation?
    Thanks for your inputs.

    • @RONTEK
      @RONTEK  Před 8 měsíci

      Ok so I've gone through your list. If you want an authentic Dolby Atmos experience, you'll need a soundbar with upward firing speakers as well as rear speakers (also upward firing if possible).
      Sounbars without rear speakers or upward firing speakers give you virtual surround sound effect and not a real surround sound effect. So, all the sound comes from the front but it feels like its coming from a wider area. But with real upward and rear speakers, sound comes from many directions making the experience theatre like. So, soundbars like LG SH7Q, Yamaha YAS 209, JBL Bar 5.1 and 500 Pro should be eliminated. Zebronics and Philips are the brands that will give you a good enough Atmos Experience. Out of these, Zebronics one is much cheaper and its reviews are quite good. So, while this soundbar might not be the best sounding soundbar from your list, its Atmos effect will be the best.
      I can't really think of any other soundbars under 50K that delivers a proper Atmos experience. But if you decide to increase your budget, JBL Bar 800 and Samsung Q930C are very good options. Basically, you should search for soundbars that can output in 5.1.2 channel as minimum (Breakdown : 5 channels for left, right, center, rear left and rear right, 1 for sub woofer and 2 for upward channels). The sweet spot for Perfect Dolby Atmos effects is 7.1.4 channel.

      Hey buddy. Thanks for your detailed analysis.
      Yes, I agree with your points that the Real Atmos experience will be felt by having more upfiring speakers, especially on the rear as it will be more immersive. I'll wait for some deals and see if Samsung or JBL discount their higher end soundbars during Diwali or the New Year.
      I also wanted to ask you about Dolby Atmos Passthrough. Do you think the Amazon FireTV Stick 4K Max will support True Dolby Atmos Passthrough or do I need to invest in a better source (or a new TV altogether) to get real Dolby Atmos? I've heard that the Dolby Atmos in the FireTV Stick is compressed (Divy Digital Plus) and not True Atmos (Dolby TrueHD). What are your thoughts on this?
      Thanks for your inputs! Subscribed :)

      JBL Bar 1000 is also a very good sound system. Bar 1300 just has more surround channels. But the Bar 1000's 7.1.4 channel sound system is more than good enough.
      The only real advantage of Bar 1300 is that its rear speakers can be permanently mounted as they can be powered by a type C cable.

      @@RONTEK btw didn't find JBL 1300 bar listed on chroma and Vijay sales website aswell with gurgaon pincode also and there is no digital footprint in India for that. From where did you buy it?

    • @RONTEK
      @RONTEK  Před 11 měsíci +1

      I didn't buy it. One of my cousins bought it from a JBL retail store. At that time, it was only the 2nd unit of Bar 1300 in India. So, I kept it for a few weeks to review it and once my review was done, I sent it back to my cousin's place.
      Since then, I've heard of many people buying it in India, but only in the offline market. It's completely absent online.
      One of the commenters mentioned that he got it from Chrome for 125k which is quite a good price.

    • @RONTEK
      @RONTEK  Před 11 měsíci

      I've not tested the A7000, but based on its reviews, it isn't very impressive in terms of Dolby Atmos Surround Sound. In comparison, the Jbl Bar 1300 has a fantastic Dolby Atmos effect.
      However, you can also consider Sony's A9 sound system with the SW5 subwoofer as it offers the best Dolby Atmos effect based on its reviews. Samsung Q990C is also a top contender.

    Bro , just bought a JBL 1000
    Can we play Dolby Atmos dtx via Bluetooth ( I don't have a TV and have paired ipad ) .. please let me know .. seems as if the rear speakers seems rubbish 😰😰😰😰😰

    • @RONTEK
      @RONTEK  Před rokem +1

      No, you can't get Dolby Atmos and DTX over bluetooth. In fact, JBL doesn't even support lossless audio over bluetooth.
      You'll need a TV with an eARC HDMI port for Dolby Atmos.
      If you get a TV with just a standard ARC port, you'll need to use the soundbar's HDMI pass-through port to connect a Fire TV stick or Mi TV stick with Dolby Atmos support.
      You can also go for Apple TV 4k box, which even supports music playback in Dolby Atmos and you can rent or buy movies with Dolby Atmos and Dolby Vision from the Apple TV app.
      Over bluetooth, the Soundbar tries to convert 2 channel audio into surround sound, and that's why the rear speakers sound weird if you listen to them up close.
      But with proper Dolby Atmos, all the speakers will sound great.

      Thanks for appreciating.
      Using the rear speakers as independent speakers is only possible with the bar 1300... not with the bar 1000.
      The bar 1300 rear speakers have Bluetooth and can work as standalone bt speakers.
      But that's not the case with the bar 1000 where the rear speakers can only communicate with the Soundbar.

    Hi please suggest should I go for 1300 or 1000, the Hall size will be 18ft x 12 ft type apartment and is the extra premium is really worth it or should I go for 1000. Also 1000 surround it say can charge with USB C you have mentioned only possible in 1300 which is correct.

      @RON TEK do you think thr 40inch bar is too short width wise for being in front of a 77" lg oled? Or should I go with the Samsung?

    • @RONTEK
      @RONTEK  Před rokem

      The samsung Soundbar is about 48" width wise. So, it'll look better under a 77" TV but even a 40" Soundbar should look good. It's not at all a small Soundbar.
      Also, the Samsung Soundbar has much lower output @660W vs 1170W of JBL and it doesn't support Google Assistant and Chromecast.

    How is non dolby atmos music quality?

    • @RONTEK
      @RONTEK  Před rokem

      Non dolby atmos music quality is also good. You get virtual surround sound with normal music, which does a decent job of enhancing the sound stage of the music. However, you can get similar sound quality with much cheaper soundbars.
      The real benefit of this soundbar can only be experienced with Dolby Atmos content.
