I took a heat gun and a razor blade and carefully peeled back tamper proof label without VOID appearing, then removed trigger, then reformed spring just like you did and took my trigger from 4-1/2 lbs to a nice crisp and consistent 3 lbs, I then reassembled and tested, I'm right at 3 lbs and am good with this.I think with use, trigger will break-in and drop down a little more.BTW, I folded flap of tamper proof decal back over screw and you can't tell I was in there. If you really want to smooth that bolt out apply a small amount of moly paste to ball socket and cam slide inside the bolt, you can work bolt back and forth to spread the moly, then wipe any excess away. I even applied a small amount of moly to round engagement lugs on both sides. This made bolt engagement really crisp.Night and day difference.
@@gobangs1117 My T Bolt is a 17HMR After lots of testing gun shoots most ammo well, BTW, I have the Target/Varmint model. However I got a batch of CCI #49 V-Max and at 50 yards all the holes in target are touching and in most cases hole on hole. Tried at 100 yards and am able to shoot plastic push pins holding target to board until target falls on ground. They are that accurate
Goodnight. I am an amateur sportsman. I'm from Brazil and here we are forced to be a shooting athlete to have the right to own firearms. I purchased my T-Bolt .22 (it costs 2400 dollars here. Yes, believe me). I have problems with accuracy due to the weight of this trigger. I'm in contact with a gunsmith friend and we were thinking about making another spring for this rifle. But maybe your solution is more practical. Thank you for publishing the video. It will give us new ideas.
They advertise 3 1/4 to 5 1/4 adjustment. Isn’t that false advertisement? mine was also at 4 1/2 lbs. Did the same as you with the spring on a screwdriver. Basically gave it a little more wrap. I ran the adjustment screw up until just contacted the spring. I am at 3 lbs. which is perfect for me. Thanks for the great info!
Availability is much more of a problem in Australia than USA and Europe so I get what I can, not always the best option but it is what it is. I like DNZ and Talley but cannot always get them.
So you didn’t like your Jard? I recently got one but haven’t put it in mine yet. They seem to have the market cornered for the Tbolt. I’ve got a 22LR & 22 Mag so wasn’t sure what I would try first oh and mine are the maple lol
For whatever reason the Jard is now operating without the bolt release problem. I have no idea why that is but having cycled the bolt hundreds of times since reinstallation it appears to be a non issue.
How did it shoot bud before and after. Shoot some groups? I use sk long range match ammo for mine. What ammo do you use. I also shimmed my barrel near the stock foreand to give uppward pressure. Seems to shoot quite well now. But yeah the trigger is poor. Thanks for the mod bud. Cheers from melbourne
Great stuff, the trigger on this rifle is fucking awful out of the box there's no other way to describe it. Just done mine exactly the same as yours and it's as nice as my Steyr Zephyr II trigger now albeit still a wanky single stage but what ever, it's now light enough that I don't pull every other shot off target now.
I'm glad you were able to achieve a reasonable trigger. I really can't understand how they could make such a good rifle and put such a crap trigger in it. I put the JARD back in and am happy with that at 12 ounces even if the bolt pulls out now and then.
@@gobangs1117 it's shameful really, I'll order the Jard eventually but at the price it costs it will be a while. Does the Jard feel better than the Browning trigger in the way it breaks? Ie doesn't feel like a rubbery giant wang? 😂

Well done. It's worth working on because regardless of the trigger they are fantastic rifles. Cheers.

You can decock the bolt by depressing trigger while locking in the bolt that decocks it vs dry firing
Yes you can. Just like most any bolt action.
@@varmitboy7 yes I was saying how to on the Tbolt
It works. You sir are brilliant.

Talley makes some nice mounts for the Tbolt. I know lol I am a little late to the game..

It shoots very well indeed, in fact I scored my smallest group ever .2 inch recently with Eley Match.
I got a brand new browning the safty didn't work there were mettle fileings in the trigger
Not surprised, the one thing that Browning to poorly is triggers.
And I've just had trouble with the safety... and yea your right it is shit... not good enough jard
Mine is actually working OK now.
Can you send for me a link for this part?
Just jump on the JARD website input Browning T Bolt.
Go to 19:25 for the actual trigger fix.
