He wants to reminisce, but she has memories that make it unbearable for her to revisit the past. But if she wants to continue her life with him, she will need him to realize the truth and remember, too.

A Russian space mission is in extreme danger and the consequences will extend far beyond the crew of the shuttle. This unfortunate turn will also reach the locals around the deepest freshwater lake in the world. Coincidentally, a scientific expedition comes to explore the lake and our intrepid experts do what scientists seem to do best: go exploring without any idea of what s await them.

Really enjoyed this episode. I love science fiction and I love horror so when you put the two together you get an ultimate sandwich for me.
I love the Lovecraft type second story and Olivia Steele blew that first story out of the park. She is a very talented voice actress and I would love to hear more of her in Chilling Tales and the podcasts.
I love this show and it stokes the flames for me wanting to become a narrator myself the more I listen.

I swear some of these stories should be movies. Wow I could picture that last one. Of people being brainwashed after being invaded by aliens. Humans walking around with only happy thoughts and not seeing the real world in ruins. This is just a example of one. I love how I can get lost in a story and see everything like a movie play out in my mind.

Just a funny touch - when the grandma was telling the crew the story of the boy Ichthyander - that wasn't some ancient folk history. Grandma just retold the story from the cult Soviet SF movie from the sixties - Amphibian Man.

heh, i've been playing a game called stellaris lately and that first story reminded me just what kind of things the native population might be going through when my galaxy-spanning empire invade & conquer a pre-FTL civilisation then slap a giant mind control lasor device on the governing low orbit space station to pacify the inhabitants below. since it's a strategy game, there aren't any details on what's happening within the conquered "primitive" populace other than an unhappiness indicator, though i'd imagine it would be pretty close to the story. :)
Such a great narrator and I hope there will be much more of her work on the way. I hope men don't sound as consistently goofy as we do in your reads but I suspect the worst.

A large on identifiable biological organism washes up on shore people aren't sure if it's a undiscovered species or if it came from out of space I really love the story
Even and the only reason that crustaceans don't grow to Maine sizes is because of earths atmosphere it's not too far-fetched to believe that this could happen in our very near future

The ending of the first story was disappointing :( was such a good story and she finally managed to get him out the trace ...... then picks suicide by running to the machines :( could have been done so much better for such a good build up

Something about how society sucks and if you keep living pretending everything is great you'll die pretty soon?
And the only way to snap someone out of their enjoyment of life is to make them remember something painful?

So they'll die soon, people die all the time, better to have a short enjoyable life than a miserable long one.

ooooook.....why the **** didnt the girl in the first story just take that guy and Run away to hide somewhere instead of leaving him alone, not even telling him whats going on so that he really has no Chance of getting away and delivering herself to the machines? I mean...humans are stupid but you cannot tell me that she is that dumb! or did the writer just have to make a Bad end? (No offence in this part its still a great story)

I figured she had done that due to the fact that the story establishes the machines investigate people quite closely and she couldnt guarantee she could explain in time without drawing further attention so decides to provide a distraction but her plan backfires.
