    Wow, thank you for the precise and quick review! It seems that everyone else boasts that the helmet is quiet so I'm glad that someone pointed out that it isn't. I read a few reviews that said it wasn't quiet, but then a lot of video reviews say that it is! Weird. I'm looking to buy this helmet in the spring but I'm still not sold on it because of the wind noise and the fact that the sun visor doesn't come down far enough (I wear glasses too). I'm not sure what else I could buy that wouldn't break the bank!

    • @ayserides
      @ayserides  Před 2 lety +3

      With a decent set of earplugs (I use the alpine motosafe ones but there's many out there) it's a really nice helmet. You do get used to the sun visor after a while, and on really bright days I use the dark visor.
      I'm the same as you, I'm not sure what else you could get that's as good without paying at least twice as much! If you have the money to fork out for a £600-800 helmet I'm sure they're really nice, but for £250 you can't go wrong with this one :)

    Great review! unfortunatly for me I have a teeny tiny head the only adult helmet I found that would fit was the Shoei NXR, I bought the zork version as I like the 80's styling and it comes in an xxs.
    As a side note as we are nearly in November, I would defiently recommend you put heated grips on your Christmas list. you will not regret it :-)

    • @ayserides
      @ayserides  Před 2 lety +1

      It's always worth trying helmets on in person I think. I'm fairly lucky that an xs usually fits me :p
      Yes they're on the list! I plan on commuting so these are a must. Was looking at a set of those handguards you see scooter riders using but I think they might be a bit too big for my bike

    • @ozzyprogdomino8815
      @ozzyprogdomino8815 Před 2 lety

      @@ayserides Even though I have no plan on commuting on my bike, I got the dealer to fit a pair of heated grips as part of the deal when I bought the bike. They are just basic oxford ones I think, but they work really well. I think the only issue that people have with the oxford basic ones is the controller is a bit big and ugly. I am not bothered about that. The fact it is big means I can see it and change it on the move. My husband is fussy and his heated grips have the control built in to the grip itself I think they are made by Daytona. I don't know how easy either are to fit as they were fitted with the bike purchase.

    • @ayserides
      @ayserides  Před 2 lety +1

    Hi, do you think the noise characteristic you described can be caused by the not perfect adhesion of the pads to your face? I mean, do you feel it snug or relax on your cheeks and neck? Thank u 4 the well made review

    • @ayserides
      @ayserides  Před 2 lety +1

      Good question. I've used the air to pump the cheekpads up and it helps a bit but the helmet is still a bit noisy in my opinion. With earplugs it's perfect, without earplugs I'd probably only wear it for journeys less than 15 mins or so
      But then there isn't any helmet that won't cause long term damage to your hearing without earplugs, so this one isn't much worse than others

    • @claudiocrivellato7532
      @claudiocrivellato7532 Před 2 lety

      @@ayserides thank u. But after pumping do you feel it snug, real snug, comfy...?
      Because in the video seems quite confy and maybe too much.
      (I'm saying this because ones I bought a relaxed fit helmet (nolan N87 with "thin" pads), i learned that if your cheeks are not well pushed is noisy AF. )

      I find it comfortable. The cheek pads are nice quality. It's not super quiet imo, I always wear it with earplugs. I'm not sure what you mean by twice the price. It's £250 on sportsbikeshop

      @ayserides  Před 2 lety +1

      To be fair, I don't think there are any helmets you can really wear without earplugs, until you're spending twice the price like you say. I'd rather pair this helmet with a £15 pair of earplugs and treat myself to a new helmet every 2-3 years or so
