57 grown man here and this brings tears to my eyes also. Takes me back to a time and a girl. I was early 20's and had my whole life ahead of me, such a happy time . Oh, to go back .
This woman exudes kindness, relaxation, maturity, humbleness and A GREAT VOICE!!!!!!!!!!! Look at how she is enjoying this and how she includes the audience and shows her gratitude for their pleasure. What a great family. Polynesians are the kindest, gentlest people.
She was 12 when they recorded this song?? WOW!!! And she sang with such maturity then!! She really sounds like a smooth flowing river now, just beautiful and peaceful!!
She sounds just as beautiful as she did when she was twelve. This song is one of my absolute favorites and thank you Wadet32 for sharing with us. They are one of the good groups from the 80's that can REALLY sing and without auto tone. :)
I'm a Native American from northern AZ. I grew up on The Jets. They had and still have musical talent ten fold. I would love to see them in concert. Navajo Nation in full effect! Love ya'll!
What a GORGEOUS FAMILY!!!!!!! I loved this group while growing up in the 80's boy do I ever miss that time.....when things were simple, and musical acts had TRUE TALENT and not this crap we see today. - Somebody put me in a time machine...........
i was lucky enough to see them live in Summer of 88 at the Concord Pavilion in CA with Jermaine Stewart (RIP) and Stacey Q. They were great live and Ill never forget that show!!! :)
ERIC F I saw the same concert on the Boston Common! Their dad was sitting next to me and my friend video taping their performance on one of those huge cameras that recorded on a vhs tape, lol. We were in the second row on the end and Stacey Q talked to us through the fence. Jermaine Stewart was really late, in fact I can't remember if he even showed up. I saw Whitney Houston that summer on the Common. Great days...
This woman had the best voice in the 80s and in the 90s and as of today never stop loving her or the way she sings you are truly a all time best love you
I thought she had a beautiful voice in the 80s, but you can hear the obvious maturity in her voice now. She sounds awesome! had no idea she was so young back then... I think I was like 5 or 6, and I would perform this song for my family all the time! LOL! I was sure I was gonna be famous one day. I'm still a huge Jets fan at 34!
they are my favorite band and Im 67!!! I write down the lyrics and sing and play my accoustic but in a lower key. these kids were so good and the song lyrics so complementary i cry like a baby when i hear the videos. Straight to my heart is their effect and I m not ashamed a bit to say this!
I was born in 1997, and I'm 18 in 2015, I never got to grow up in the age of great music such as this! Thank God my parents were around then, they have showed me the music they listened to and this is some of the most absolutely beautiful music I've ever heard! Her voice was amazing in 1988, and it's amazing now! Where did music like this go?
T. L. That is as great a compliment as you can give to your parents. Diversified life in musical culture is always good. I was born in 1966. I had two older siblings and my mother and father loved country music. So my siblings loved the Dick Clark ERA of the 50's and 60's. I lived in the ERA of DISCO and the 80's. So I listen to everything from Big Bands and Dean Martin to The Jets and Expose. Take it all in. It is fun. Music is life!
WHAT A BEAUTIFUL VOICE 💕 THANK YOU GUYS YOU WERE SUCH A PART OF MY HEART IN SUCH A NEEDED TIME ! IM 55 NOW THANK YOU LORD JESUS CHRIST 🙏 FOR THEM I KNOW NOW NOTHING IS A HAPHAZARD
Wow , just absolute WOW. She holds her looks really well and she still sounds beautiful. With the rest of the band , all together they pulled this off well . Well done to all of this amazing band . GRAND stuff
Ah, the memories. I was 12 years old when this song was released. Same age as Elizabeth, the lead singer. I remember fishing with my dad one day and I brought my radio boombox with us and a blank cassette ready to record this song in case it played on the radio. Sure enough, the song came on while we fished and I ran over to my radio to hit record just as Elizabeth started singing. It was a crappy recording but I eventually bought the album later. The memories meant much more to me than anything else. Thank you, The Jets, for everything.
Hot Farts poor kids...your name is my appetizer usually...wow.. literally just ate a nasty one as I type....lol..talk about epic...anyway your kids should be proud also..
This was and still is one of my favorite band's back in the day. And still love there song's. I sure wish that we could turn back time. And stay in these times and just stay young forever. But we can't do that unfortunately which is sad. We all have got to grow up and grow older. And try to remember all of ower great song's that we've had back then that we still love to hear now. They gave us the Best memories of ower lives. The Jets are one of the Best band's with the best song's too. Everyone have a great day.
Brings back so many memories of running home to turn on MTV and BET to watch the music videos. Her voice ✨ is still beautiful ❤️ those where the good old days.
Wow, I didn't know she was only 12 year old when she first recorded this song! This, too, is a good one from the 80's. I miss the 80's. I miss watching sitcoms and knowing who all the artists are on the radio and who everyone is at all these different music award shows. hahaha
Barbara Kraemer I didn't realize that either, because she sure didn't look like a twelve year old back in the day when this song came out, I honestly thought that she was in her late teens - early 20's
Never knew she was 12!!! I was 2 when this song came out but my mother and father sung tf outta this song damn near everyday so I can’t act like the oldies wasn’t the goodies of my life. Love You Jets!!! #84baby
That voice is like a Cloud that looks like it could at anytime become a thunder cloud but instead provides you with just the right amount of Shade on a Hot Day. It is cool and powerful at the same time. I am embarrassed that we are from the same state but I was oblivious of your ability until I left Minnesota. But I am proud that you lived here. So, If someone says Uff da! You're good, you understand!
Damn man! Theres nothing in this world like family. They look like they're really enjoying being together performing. This song brings out the emotions.
Still on point!!that's true talent it never dies..people these days know nothing about being real musicians and singers glad I grew up in this time of music...🙌🙌🙌
I stumbled upon their original video for this song. I had forgotten about this group. I'm glad to be reunited with their music. They are talented and gorgeous. I'm glad they're still here and still performing together.
I recorded this on a little cassette tape (anyone remember those?) when it came out in the 80s and I still have it. So cool to see it now on You Tube which was not even invented back then. Love watching these old songs here. I ma in my 70s now with 2 daughters, a son, and a 23 yr. old grandson. I still love the music I grew up with in the 60s and so many of my music heroes have died but we have a lot of great new ones for our children & Grand children to enjoy. I still go out to hear live music in the San Francisco Bay Area where I have lived since 1968 when I ran away from home to come here & join the Hippies. I've been back to the East Coast many times over the decades to visit my family of origin (what is left of it) so I visit Eastern cities: New York, Boston, Philadelphia, Montreal, Canada. I've also visited Houston, Texas & more. I am thinking of seeing Baltimore. I enjoy new adventures, especially musical adventures.
Oh Elizabeth and your amazing voice! And one wonders if the family would stop feuding and get back together like this and go on an amazing tour, I would pay top dollar 💵 to see all of them on stage together like this again! 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾👍🏾✌🏾😁❤️❤️🎤🎹🎸🎷
One of my favorite recordings, so well written and produced, bassist nailed it (funky with the slap) and the synth sounded amazing (wish I knew what board it came out of) and Elizabeth voice is so pure and angelic (very rare in the same company as Karen Carpenter) and Eddie still killing that sax, such a talented family...

I had the biggest crush on her, we are the same age. When this song came out I was swooning over her and the song. Hope to see them live one day. Probably start bawling like a baby!
A-M-A-Z-I-N-G...I remember this song from back in the day in high school. She still has an incredible voice to sing a song that's been in my head still all these years later. Wish I had a ticket...
Grown man, 51 years old... Gets choked up and reflects to the great era of the 80s. God bless.
57 grown man here and this brings tears to my eyes also. Takes me back to a time and a girl. I was early 20's and had my whole life ahead of me, such a happy time . Oh, to go back .
Me too bro. Me and my ladies favorite song in high school.
Ah, me, too.
You’re not alone! 😂😂😂 Great Music!
Same here, gives me goosebumps, transports me back to the 80’s.
The Jets were so underrated. She was twelve when she recorded this song! Absolutely amazing! Young ones take note this is the real!
Jay Colbert amen
@Sean Boyce Yes she was, she was born in 1972 and the song was released in 1985 before she turned 13. Do your research jackass.
Yes, I so agree! Their music touched your heart back then and it continues to touch your heart to this day. 💕💕💕
@Walter White No, she's not 12 years old in the video.
@Walter White You ask a valid question. She was 14 in the video.
She had one of the most beautiful voice ever! At 12 she had natural depth and could really carry. Simply amazing.
J didn't realize she was only 12. Omg
@boymommy1 neither did I for many years. For a long time I had no idea whom the name of this person was or that it was a group.
Just like Stacy Lattimore she was 12 when she recorded her hits
"Had" ? She has still.
@@Asphaltsquadron I stand corrected!
Agreed. That's why I want to marry a Polynesian.
Wish I would have!
Yes I agree with you on that one love this beautiful gorgeous woman
yes yes yessss!
Religion-wise, they are Latter-day Saints!
The 80s was a great great great decade for music.

I remember having the biggest crush on her when I was little. The 80’s was the best time of my life.

Her voice is more mature now. The spirit is still there, I love it💚
Saxophone is the most beautiful sounding instrument ever!!!
She was 12 when they recorded this song?? WOW!!! And she sang with such maturity then!! She really sounds like a smooth flowing river now, just beautiful and peaceful!!
jpurify08 That was a surprise to me also
Because she definitely didn't look like a twelve year old back then
She was 12 in the video where she was in that diner?
Remember Polynesian, Samoan, Hawaiian people looks so big in their teenager times...that’s a fact
She says is many interviews because of her age she was told to imagine losing her puppy when recording this legendary song. Ofa atu Jets
@@lb1262dt She was 14 in the video in the diner, but the song had been recorded two years prior.
Classic example of how real talent stands the test of time. Still sounds good!
She is just like the same and her voice gets better. You really got it all The Jets.

Genuine authentic talent which doesn't exist anymore. It's a joy to see that Hollywood didn't ruin them like it has so many other very young stars.
@@kwuanbrinson5006 So true, so true my friend. :)
