I second that. A very short album that was perfectly executed.
at the end of After Hours (Until I Bleed Out) the character dies/is taken to the hospital
Dawn FM is the characters journey to the after life (or in other words moments before actual death). He described it as hes stuck in a car driving to the after life with the radio stuck on this channel. It's why the album is so much about regret. the character is looking back on his life and relationships.
On Gasoline it's like he's talmking to a nurse or whoever is with him in the hospital "And I love it when you watch me sleep
You spin me 'round so I can breathe"
Also the background of Every Angel Is Terrifying during the spoken word part sounds like a hospital in the background

As a 90’s hip hop head myself, I’m surprised how much I ended up liking all the weekends material. I also played dawn fm, probably as much as I’ve ever played any album in my life. You can let ever song play and it’s just got such a great sound overall

Bob you should consider checking out some more of The Cure! (Even if it's on your own time) They're way more darker and rockin then their singles would make you think. Disintegration is one of the best albums ever.

Definitely outside your sound but you should check out Jessie Ware and her album What's Your Pleasure, modernizes some disco sounds with some great instrumentation and great production. How I'm Feeling Now by Charli XCX is another great pop album that's a bit out of comfort zone as well as her new album Brat.
I was never into pop at all, I was also a bit of a music snob but these are all excellent pop albums definitely worth listening to.
