Thank you!!! I removed my broken blade from my Ozito brand reciprocating saw. Although mine is a different brand, your process was enough to guide me to do mine. You're a great teacher. I feel empowered. I look forward to buying my new blade tomorrow and installing it, then back to mahi! Whoop! Whoop! Gurl Power.

Thanks! I have a Ferm and it is a bit different than your Rigid, but you helped me find the ring that I needed to remove to be able to disassemble the thing. Now I can use it again after 4 years of it waiting to be repaired.

Still a timely video, my Ridgid R86447 One Hand Reciprocating Saw that I found at a yard sale had the blade release mechanism rusted inoperable. It has the same mechanism as found in this video, and it was extremely helpful in disassembly for cleaning and reassembly. Works like a charm now. I broke two of the corners on that pin from trying to pry it out with a small screwdriver (it was rusted in place somewhat). But that gave me a place to grip the pin with small needle nose plier. Gentile rotation and penetrating oil got it free. Thanks for your video!

Thanks! This was what I needed to get my Milwaukee 2821-20 Sawzall apart and back together again, 95% similar.

Hey thanks for this video. I've got the exact same Ridgid Fuego reciprocating saw, with the blade broken flush EXACTLY like yours. I can't wait to get that damn blade out- it's been stuck in there for over a year. I'll use this video to get the blade out. Thanks again, man!

I was about to attempt to do your video which I think was well done. But I decided to clamp onto the spinny bit with some vice grips. I then rotated it with the vice grips to the open position and turned it in such a way that the blade could fall out, I gave the vice grips a couple of light taps with a hammer and that was enough to get the broken blade to fall out.

The blade broke off in my reciprocating saw. I used a thin super magnet to draw it out. I sprayed silicone in as soon as the blade snapped and used the magnet about an hour later when I got home.

I appreciate your video. It was helpful to see how it is put together. I was able to get mine out just by releasing it while holding it upside down. It fell right out, but I might have loosened it a little with the nail.

5 second quick fix. Rotate clamp to the open position and using a good blow gun, blow compressed air into the clamp. The broken blade piece shoots out for me every time.
