The name of the game comes from Psalm 5:9 in the bible, which in most texts roughly translates to:
"Not a word from their mouth can be trusted;
their heart is filled with malice.
Their throat is an open grave;
with their tongues they tell lies."
Here we have his motivation for killing them. He didnt trust them, he saw them as enemies.
Im thinking the player character is just living through a nightmare brought on by the ghosts of the family (maybe his own?) he cannibalized. There were 3-4 heads in boxes, probably all of the heads of the family members. A creeper haunting underneath tables and in corridors, notice it was a glob of heads with the skin ripped off. Then we find skin masks hanging around the basement. The final bit is him putting the pieces together, seeing his own reflection, and seeing who the real monster is. But the face he's wearing is smiling in a forced manner, like he stitched the faces of the family together to make it look like he's smiling. Like he enjoyed it.
We get a bit of history about the family too, like the kid or kids were really into outer space and animals, they had posters all over the walls and when looking through the window the house is floating in space. The kids probably used to have little tea parties with the animals at the table, hence the murder mimicking a tea party with human body parts. I didnt understand the video shown on the tv or the presidential election bit, but I do remember 2008-2009 being the economic crash in the U.S. Maybe that was the beginning of the player characters downward spiral. In the video it looks like somebody is hauling something heavy into some backwoods abandoned house, maybe a corpse? Was that his first kill? Someone else's kill? If we consider the Psalm and his motivation, maybe the footage is from someone in his family who killed someone and he discovered the footage, leading him to feel like he had to kill them which spiraled into him not feeling like he could trust even the children? The player character was definitely watching some wild shit and it probably didnt help his descent into psychosis.
Im still left wondering about the 3 radios. The song was beautiful, it goes against the brutal nature of the scene and what happens in the room after the songs are cut off. Was it 3 radios for each family member killed? 3 songs for 3 deaths which when put together are a bitter-sweet culmination of their lives cut-short by their murder?
This one was honestly incredible. The sound design, especially if you wear headphones is phenomenal. They really showcased how atmosphere can be just as terrifying as any jump scare, and then those last 5 minutes showed how serious they were about making you REALLY feel that terror. Those last couple minutes scared the living hell out of me and sent chills down my spine.
Love the way you cut the end too, it fit the tone of the ending perfect. Games like this are perfect in short duration, when they become too long they start to lose their intensity as the player gets numb to the atmosphere. AAA devs take note, this is how you do it!

I love it when Hollow is casually talking while roaming around and suddenly a jumpscare occurs, then he screams like a little girl and goes silent with an annoyed expression on his face.🤣🤣🤣🤣

As someone who can't really get startled or get freaked out I can say watching you makes these games infinitely more enjoyable and stuff I enjoy watching.
