This video explains about the various intra ocular lens options available for cataract surgery.
Lens options today can be broadly classified into Monofocal , Extended depth of focus and Trifocal/ Multifocal lenses.
Monofocal lenses provide the patient with clear vision for distance but require the patient to wear glasses for work at the intermediate and near range
Extended depth of focus lenses provide the patient with clear distance vision , intermediate vision and functional near vision
Trifocal/ Multifocal lenses provide the patient with clear vision across all the ranges of distance with some compromise in the quality of vision.

Just now I have done cataract surgery in both the eyes, in a gap of 2 weeks, with Indian Toric multifocal lens. Now I don't need glass. Even now I can read very small letters. Thanks to the Multifocal technology. Now my vision is very bright. Did surgery in Amrit hospital, purasawalkam,Chennai.

My mom did surgery in tirupur eye hospital.. They explain only 2 types of lenses. not explain edof lens and explain costs only. Not clearly explain all types. After cataratct surgery 5 days completed. Still she has not satisfied the vision. Still vision as low same as other unoperated eye. Not get clear vision. What is the reason? Pls explain. Thanks.

Hello, it depends upon the type of lens which was placed. If it was an EDOF, you might need lens for reading fine print such as newspapers. If it was a Multifocal and you are still finding difficulty with reading, you might need to adjust the distance at which you are reading. Try holding it closer or further and see if you are able to see better

Want to know when the same will be cleared. It is very nagging even after a month my vision is not that much clear. I need a glass for reading computer and phone. Why don't you the cost of three lenses you have shown. Nowadays eye specialists are quoting as(not only eye specialists all most all doctors are quoting as a package which includes lenses cost and other surgery cost.) So if it is open cost brake up it will be fare
