  • Public awareness and attention to health equity has grown rapidly in recent years, with the recognition that equity - broadly construed along many axes - is critical to the ethical conduct of healthcare and research. In Bioethics & Stories of Inequity, Usha Lee McFarling, recipient of the 2024 Bernard Lo, MD, Award in Bioethics, discusses how her reporting has shined a light on inequity and made an impact to reduce disparities in health and science.
The Greenwall Foundation seeks to make bioethics integral to decisions in health care, policy, and research. It awards approximately $3-4 million annually in support of its mission to expand bioethics knowledge to improve clinical, biomedical, and public health decision-making, policy, and practice.
