He was so much more than just tricks. He had world-class movement and timing. Most of his goals were from being in the right place at the right time. Great finisher as well. Not to mention his assists.

Obviously as a Boro fan he's the best player to ever grace the club (except maybe Higgy) but what's surprising is people recently coming out and saying how good he was. I was young at the time so i wasn't as observant to anything other than goals but my word - he made everything look easy
Just an unbelievably special experience watching this lad in a boro shirt, even on youtube. Was only 4/5 year old when he was here but I remember meeting him and Downing when they were both sat next to me at a hairdressers in Yarm. God.
Thank you - Life long Newcastle fan but this guy was something else. Left foot - right foot never gave up on the ball - and even faced up to Philip Albert - what a joy to watch.
The first season he played during warm up the opposition players would look and you could see them laughing because he looked so small. They were all for shaking his hand at the end of those games. The best footballer I have ever seen live and his engine never stopped during that first spell he played for us.
Absoluetly ridiculous a player of that standard played for us, a utterlly world class player, how he lost premiership player of the year to zola is a mystery to this day
He said in an interview that he repents himself to not remain playing for Middlesbrough instead of going to Spain. He had everything to joined the Brazilian National Team in France 1998. He was injured in Spain and then, this injury had taken him out of World Cup. 4 years later, he could joined to Brazil and then, he had won the 5th World Cup's title for Brazil.
He really hit about 2 of those; the rest just caressed into the corners or clipped over the keeper, magic stuff. If only Robbo had actually got a couple of good defenders as well to go with Juninho, Ravanelli & Emerson....
That goal he scored at Elland Road was my favourite, in the match when the greatest ever Boro player cried like a little bitch after being relegated by Leeds. Love to see it.
Many times young people boast about players like pogba, mbappe and neymar. But I'd prefer player from the past where they play beautiful and fair play football.
@@leonardorocha3675 Eu lembro que o Ravanelli estava no começo e era reserva do Vialli e o Del Piero estava no começo e era reserva do Roberto Baggio, e ambos tiveram sucesso na carreira.
If he'd kept his form and fitness throughout his career he would have been in the top 10 GOATs. Skill and speed at his peak was better than Messi and CR7.
How he never won footballer of the year was a disgrace in 1997, typical London base FA gave it to Zola who was only here 6 month so bias and taking 3 points of us for cancelling a match. Robson made the wrong decision and should of played the kids, but if Man U or Liverpool cancelled a match nothing would of happened Remember Tottenham got docked 12 points and got every single one of them back typical bias FA.
Cheers from São Paulo, I shall now declare that Middlesbrough is my favorite England's football club.
