Thanks for the opportunity for virtual traveling on trams in Amsterdam, I really enjoy watching your videos, I love trams, trams are amazing transport. I am from Riga and I wish my Riga could have a such developed tram system like in Amsterdam. I never been in Amsterdam and I do not see myself in Amsterdam any time soon. When I watch your videos I keep map of Amsterdam with tram lines open next to me, I watch little piece of your videos and then I pause and I look on the map to understand where is it. I noticed one kind of broken intersection, Ferdinand Bolstraat and Ceintuurbaan, looks like line on Ferdinand Bolstraat toward to Albert Cuypstraat is disassembled, and I noticed there on the corner some construction is going on, so is this line disassembled temporary or forever, or may be this is preparations for a new line?
+Yevgeshik Line 11 is an extra line and i made this video in the summer of 2011 i have also videos from 2015 an d 2016 What you see at the Ferdinand Bolstraat is they are building a new metroline under the street and there is the station De Pijp for the Noord/Zuidlijn metro line it will open in 2017 and it runs from Station Zuid to Noord. I have every tram and metro line in the city on video. The street is now flat and open again but years ago tram 24 would drive that way but i don't think that is gonna happen again because when the noord/zuidlijn opens its replacing some tram lines or some parts of them especially at Rokin and Centraal Station(Muntplein - Spui -Dam) Here you can see a map from the metro and tram lines in Amsterdam from this year It's from GVB so it's official assets.gvb.nl/plattegronden/Railkaart2016.pdf

I hope that after they open new metro line tram line on Ferdinand Bolstraat will be rebuild and open, I think there will be possible to create new route just to avoid duplication of metro line. I hate tram lines termination. I think they are not planning termination of tram line on that piece of Ferdinand Bolstraat because on your video made in 2011 that intersection looks the same as on Google Street View 2009 and I use OpenStreetMaps with tram lines which I hope updates regularly, on that map the intersection looks the same as in 2009-2011, so if they were planning to terminate then they would substitute tram crossing on tram triangle, but they did not, how this intersection looks now in 2016? Is there still tram crossing?
+Yevgeshik it's the same as in 2011 but i guess there is no tram crossing there because of the new metro station tram 16 and 24 passing on one side and the other side 3 and 12

Hi, Stormdog here, not Jo Anne my wife - Wikipedia says this about line 11 : a disused route since 1996, now sometimes used for special events After a period of reconstruction in the 1940s, one tram route after another was shut down in the 1950s. Buses were considered to be more practical. Thus, between 1950 and 1965 route 18, 12, 11, 17 and 5 (provisionally in 1961, finally in 1965) were replaced, in that order, by bus services. What gives with this video? Thanks
+Joanne Mack Correct!! (see above in Dutch. I'm a retired conductor. Line 11 has been combined with numer 12 to busline 22. The 11 line is sometimes in use during events or parties for Amsterdam companies. After WW2 the route was Central Station-Insulindeweg. v.v.
Was lijn 11 omgelegd? Hij ging PHPlantsoen/Martelaarsgracht op i.p.v. rechttoe rechtaan het Damrak op! Lijn 11 is/was nl. versterkingslijn van lijn 4!!
+Bolino Da's dan wel heel oud! Minstens van 1990(of eerder) toen er tijdelijk een lijn 11 reed van CS naar het Surinameplrein via de route van lijn1 (dus niet lijn17!) als "versterkingslijn. En die is inmiddels opgeheven! Je hoeft mij als gepensioneerd tram-/metrobestuurder in het Amsterdamse namelijk niks wijs te maken! Lijn 11 rijdt nl. nog steeds, meestal als versterkingslijn van d'een of andere tramlijn voornamelijk lijn 4.
Bij mijn weten is lijn 11 toch echt de specifieke evenementenlijn naar de RAI die de route van lijn 5 rijdt tot het Roelof Hartplein, en dan over de Ceintuurbaan tot-ie de route van lijn 4 kruist.

Nu is het een officiele tram lijn
kan deze tramlijn niet vaste lijn worden i.p.v tijdelijke? is dat niet makkelijker? er zijn toch ook lijn en verandert of weg neem ik aan?
