      What happened?

    • @TheeEarthQueen
      @TheeEarthQueen Před 7 měsíci +117

      @@JustMeDidiibasically there were missions for every positions (leader, sub leader, maknae etc etc) and each crew member had to come up with a choreography for a specific song, then the dancers holding said position would vote for one and present it. Then the person who made that choreography has to teach the others so that the judges can choose who danced the choreography the best.
      With the sub leader song, all of the sub leaders chose Latrice's bc they thought it was the easiest to learn and steal. They told her to her face that it was the easiest and that it was why they chose it. Then behind her back they were crying that it was unfair that she was chosen when THEY voted for her.
      After that in front of the judges the other dancers said that Latrice was unprofessional, that her choreography was lazy and that she took it easy (and mnet showed random moments of her Latrice teaching the others to put a narrative).
      After that they performed and the judges chose Latrice (so it's her choreography and she's the leader for that performance), and Redlic said (this segment was only showed in the preview but not the episode bc of the backlash) that it was unfair and that Latrice won because of her body, not because she's talented.

    • @TheeEarthQueen
      @TheeEarthQueen Před 7 měsíci +128

      @@JustMeDidiithen mnet ran with that narrative of Latrice being lazy, bossy and mean for the rest of the show.
      They never showed how hard it must've been for her to teach a group when she doesn't speak the language and when they don't have that much time, maybe doesn't teach in a way they're usually being taught in.
      So Latrice recieved a massive wave of hate from both korean and non korean viewers.

      But let's be honest, Mnet won't stop doing this, because the more we feel the drama and take sides, the more internet traffic and attention they get.
      I remembered the ClueC vs Squid incident during SDGF1, where ClueC sabotaged Squid and got told off by Monika. If Mnet really valued sportsmanship, the producer and director of the program could have stopped them earlier, but they didn't, because it created drama. Instead, they only posted the apology video from ClueC and Lachica (their mentor) only after the members and their parents got bashed real bad by Korean netizens.
      Unless they got sued real bad and repeatedly until they lose most of their revenue and stock values, I don't see Mnet changing this evil-editing trend in near future.

    It just feels great to finally hear Latrice speak in the sun-leader mission cause she’s right, MNET didn’t show her perspective or how hard it must’ve been for her to lead in the way the displayed other cast mates & dancers difficulties or opinions. They really hammered down on the rest of the sub-leaders struggles, but Latrice & often Jam Republic as a whole were edited in a way where they rarely got opportunities to voice their feelings as much as the other crews have. Which is fine but when it came to situations like Latrice or Kirsten hurting herself during the filming of the Mega Crew mission- their struggles with those challenges were brushed off pretty quickly. Or what about Audrey & Ling & Emma during the first mission where Emma was completely alone without any other Jam members. Then the challenge she faced during the mega care mission was dismissed so quickly as well. Then you have Audrey & Ling who had to find ways to compromise with Mannequeen so they can be highlighted or at least one do them. There were a lot more chances to head other crews out on their personal opinions but I feel like JR’s troubles got cut from the final edit a lot of the time.

Yes, Korea is ethnically homogenous, but economically it is one of the most open and global markets in Asia. Politically, it has well designed check-and-balance democratic system. Korea may have a long way to go, but it gets better every day. China, hmm, I don’t know how many Chinese programs you have seen. Street Dance China, Season 5, Zyko from France won the 1st place, and Kyoka from Japan won the 2nd place. Back in 2015, Jessi J won the 1st place on Singer competing against all those Chinese big names. China is ethnically and socially diverse, it has 56 ethnicities. But politically and economically, it is authoritatively controlled by the Communist Party. So you see? There are lots of things you don’t know. Of course, music and dance wise, black artists have created enormous legacies and inspired so many generations. But pls don’t misunderstand all people who exercise your music and dance as trying to appropriate your culture. They may just love and appreciate it. No one is perfect and no nation is perfect. We just learn as we go. So let’s be a little more patient.

      @@liyanhong8986 stating facts does not mean I'm "bitter" or hating or insulting. You are not the majority and I did not mean to say all koreans are the same. Again the fact is that it is engraved in government or society, it use the same "conservative" ways of government or white supremacist ideologies and agenda. It is also same worldwide since the MAJORITY are the "conservative" cult because white supremacist colonizers went global. That doesn't mean I do not believe that things can change and it can but not with a "cultist" mentality that whenever anyone states FACTS on an Asian or conservative nation their CULT gets triggered when you should try to accept the truth and try to change it which happens when you LEARN ACCEPT FACTS not dismiss it plus imply that I'm "bitter" or hating or negative when it's only the truth the reality the facts like 1+1=2

      Yeah it was pretty immature, i don’t know about their ages but Mnet we’re really displaying that Redlic was more experienced (choreography, directing, etc.) but her attitude and the little comments she was saying under her breath when she thought Latrice wouldn’t notice was just rude and made it seem otherwise with how unprofessional her sportsmanship was. If anything I think them building up her seniority kind of made her look worse due to how she treated Latrice in the earlier episodes and made it her look like a bitter teacher who couldn’t handle their “student” winning like why pin them against each other at all, couldn’t it just be women helping other women out.
