If every human being on planet earth had a hairstyle contest, Little Simz would end up in the top 20 whereas Anthony Fantano would end up somewhere around 7 billionth.
WORST HAIR IN THE GAME
Thats fucked up bro damn
he'd top the list for the "lackthereof" category. He's got the 'Angelic 2 the Core' of hairstyles.
i’d cry if i looked like fantano too bruh thats fucked up what they doing to him
At least Anthony remains the one with the best teeth in the game. Seems fair
insane that little simz did this entire interview floating in heaven
LMAOOOOO TRUE
Ant's bisexual lit basement is my personal hell
I know Fantano has probably interviewed bigger artists but this is the most excited I’ve been for Fantano interview

4:56 "obviously I'm based"
yes simz you are
lmao
She's wrong about being based in London though, she's based anywhere in the rest of the world too
idk if I'm missing something but in the UK being based in London means you're from London or London is your main place you stay/live in.
@@nicomus1c "based" is Internet slang that basically means "cool in a way that doesn't care about what other people think and follows its own path." I don't know where it originated but it's been used a lot in political discussions to describe opinions that could be controversial or polarizing but are "hard facts" anyway.
@@Solaire_of_Astora13 I hear it I didn’t know about that, but the way she meant it was the definition I described
Simz makes me so proud as an African woman to see her making music that is authentic, intelligent and true to her roots. She deserves every bit of success and recognition coming her way. Perhaps even more.

I have followed this guy since 2011 when one of his first, if not first musical appraisal was Sunn o))
It cannot be understated now genuinely good of an interviewer Melon is. He always manages to keep the conversation rolling, speaks honestly with the artist with no corny press shit, and asks legitimately interesting questions that keep the interviewee thinking and engaged. Mad props
It hasn’t always been like this. Melon Man has made huge progress since his first interviews.
I remember comments telling Anthony what is it that he should work on and I think he really listened to his audience and got way better.
I thought the same. His questions are quite interesting and manages the conversation so well. Bravo.
@@HoodedMan7890 that's just as respectable.
He’s a top fucking guy love the melon man to bits
Also manages to get interesting answers without being directly critical. Even though he wasn’t a fan of Kevin Abstracts new album he didn’t just try to talk about his issues in that recent interview he gave Kevin a chance to speak on his mentality and thoughts

Let’s not forget she is not only a great artist but her acting in Top Boy was sublime and I can’t wait to see her in the new season which is coming soon imo
She is insanely talented
@@THICCTHICCTHICC if you look at that season of Top Boy, 3 actors, Kano, Simz, and Dave all made albums that were arguably album of the year ( Hoodies All Summer, Grey Area, and Psychodrama) in 2019 which was the same year the show came out so London is really producing talented people from fairly rough areas
Bro I knew I knew her from somewhere she is so good in top boy
@@AA-ft2jj I didn’t know it was her watching it too, I was surprised her and Kano weren’t full time actors at the time cause I didn’t know what Kano looked like then but I heard his music
How can the new season coming soon be "in your opinion"? That makes no sense.
She is being humble regarding the Kanye/Drake comparison (which is an understandable reaction I guess). But she, without question, dropped a far better album than Drake and I personally prefer the album to Donda as well. So the humility, while being a good quality, feels a bit unnecessary. :)
It’s well documented she’s a huge huge fan of Drake, you have no right to say somebody’s humbleness is unnecessary 😂
@@Ladtyuven223 Fair point. What I’m trying to say is just basically that she should be proud of her creative output, and not be surprised that she’s being compared to those two giants in the scene
I really like the new Drake album, I hate three songs but love all of the other tracks, 8/10 for me.
Lmao love the distinction between comparing her album to drake’s vs comparing to Kanye’s

Simz often appears at Gorillaz' shows and she's incredible. Went to a gig at the O2 - first one there in 2 years or something crazy - and her take on the Clint Eastwood rap was something extraordinary.
I need to see this
Yeah, she also did a track with them in the Humanz era, pretty good stuff
I was at that show too, loads of guests but Simz absolutely lit the place up, best energy of the night, an absolutely top tier performer!

She definitely got up in my AOTY list, I think she slightly got edged out by Injury Reserve when it comes to rap/hip hop this year, but she did work and said her shit and made art and there's nothing to feel bad about when it comes to any of that. She's talented as hell and going to be around for years to come if she wants to be.

Bro seeing this normal CZcamsr interview some of the biggest artists is nothing short of incredible. It really shows how much people respect this guy.
so true. He might give artists whatever score he feels and sometime their entire fandoms start hating on Anthony meanwhile he interview with the artist without an issue.
This is far and away the most I've been into any interview maybe ever. This woman is a true artist and I couldn't be happier that everyone is loving her album so much and that she is getting some well deserved time to shine. AOTY
Edited at the end to say what a fucking queen
Honestly the way little simz’s album moved me was so unexpected but every song just seem to hit on a different level. Great songwriting, production, all of it is unmatched
Her album FAR surpassed Donda, and (I mean we all knew it was trash-) Drakes album. It has been a long time since I have heard an album so thought out, and full of such sincerity to a point where it brings you into another realm. Truly captivating. Also, Simz' Tiny Desk performance was so powerful (especially I love you, I hate you) to the point where it made me cry.
Couldn't agree more. I wouldn't be surprised if, down the line, that record is considered a modern classic tbh
@Gravy Talks Music Exactly!
Great combo of confidence and humility...clearly surrounding herself with the right kind of people.
Yeah she’s super measured. Admirable traits.
Little Simz was something special from the start and she’s underrated
" instead of sayin “simz is underrated” why don’t you stop being sheep and change the narrative " - simz last week on twitter
@@Spagneti Ikr. We gotta start going beyond vague praises.
Seen Simz live and was genuinely the greatest live performer I’ve ever seen
Came on stage with a megaphone rapping Boss was amazing and at one point she started playing piano for sherbet sunset
Love u simbi
that sounds legendary. little simz has got it
Love to see it. Am going to see her in December 😆
I saw her 6 years ago but that was when she hadn't dropped any classics yet, it was good tho. I gotta see her now wow
Watching her pop off in America is so special for a UK Hip Hop fan
I don’t get why the women get shunted into another grouping. For me she’s the best & gender does not come into it, other than she don’t do the hyper sexualised look that so many of the American hip hop and women rappers seem to. A shout out to Noname here, she is great, though of course being independent, gets far less attention than she ought!
Little Simz is in no way an emerging artist, she’s been rapping since the age of 11, the 1st clip of her is from a radio 5(BBC) thing,at that tender age! Her acting skills are top tier too. Top Boy is on Netflix, 2 series, didn’t look like it was going to get funded for a 3rd season, & then of all people, Drake funded it!!
I think she is incredible!
When I realized the album's name is an acronym for her name 😵 Sometimes I might be introvert - SIMBI - her name!!!!
yes
Hdjcbdidjd How did I never realise. my two brain cells are on holiday or somethin
@@tubthungusbychumbungus I didn't even know her name
Don't judge me.
Even as a non hip hop fan (mainly due to not being able to keep up with the lyrics due to being a non native speaker) I found the record pretty amazing. It's so musically rich and there are some compositional ideas that blew my mind. I only wish she switched her flow a bit more often.
For a non native speaker, your English speaks for itself.
where are u from ?
yas i don't listen to literally any rap and she's just good . good is good is good
I'm not even that much into hip hop (but getting into it more and more lately) and I would be very surprised if this wouldn't be my Album of the Year. It just speaks to me on so many levels. Fantastic. Especially I love you, I hate you puts some things into words, that I never found the words for myself. Oh, and thanks for the great interview, of course!
Best album I’ve heard in years, not a bad or filler track on it.
That's how her last 2 albums have been as well
even the interludes are great
Kano hoodies all summer, ghetts conflict of interest and ghetto gospel new testament don't have skips either
@@manav5956 I can’t lie I was actually disappointed with the Ghetts album but I think it was more the subject matter that didn’t interest me much.
Love you little simz keep spreading that good energy!!! I found you through this album and it was great, listened top to bottom and loved it the instrumentals are so beautiful and the theme hits for me personally, and showed me I worry how people will perceive me a little to much and I should just let go and have fun cause even when you’re talking some deep stuff it sounds like you’re having fun like this is the way you want to do it, so love you, appreciate music 🙏🏻🙏🏻 and I can’t wait to see where the journey leads next !
So happy to hear SAULT come up in this Interview! All of their albums so far have been amazing and deserve a listen if you haven't already.
It's pretty weird that Fantano has not reviewed any album from them. SAULT simply cannot put bad albums. Cleo Sol and Inflo are a match made in heaven.
I'm not the only person who thought I was in a Disney movie when Gemz interlude came on.
😂 it was like Frozen alright
I was bumping at work release day and my coworker who is obsessed with Suicideboyz was like, "what the fuck is this shit? Sounds like we're in a Disney movie man..." 😂😂 I feel it but I think the interludes are beautiful.

first saw/heard little simz thru her "feel good " cover a while back on youtube and then found her single: introvert. took me a while to realize who she was! what an amazing artist!!
Simbi is one of the best true artists in all of music. I love that people aren't just saying she is one of the best female rappers in the world, but one of the most skilled rappers period. She is an incredible talent
I am so happy to see Simz is receiving the love she has always deserved. I've been following her since 2014 and ever since the first day I heard her Drop 1 ep, I knew she was going to be recognised and critically acclaimed. I wish the awards shows would give her the love they be giving to H.E.R tho. She deserves some Grammy's
Yea.
We can make that happen.
We can keep spreading the word

super inspired by her,
im making a project and her lyrics are concise but hold that storytelling and literary feel of hiphop/rap,
it was really helpful as a lens to view my own work, you know its a masterpiece when i didnt feel put off or worse by comparing to it, somehow
Hyped for this!!! Love Little Simz 💜
Fantano appreciating and respecting Simbi's music before any UK podcaster/commentator is telling. We're clueless over here sometimes
People don’t respect female rappers in the UK enough. Lady Leshurr had one big song but Bree Runway and Simz have been snubbed for a long time.
