Adding Yeri to the group is the best decision SM ever made to them. The choreography looks better and complete with her. She learns so well that she didn't look awkward at all.

I mean, all of the OT4 debut and comeback was a digital single and not an album/mini album. SM barely put in effort with the debut teasers and comeback & was forced to go with OT4. And when Yeri came, that's all the real deal came. They had their very first physical mini album and a long ass promotions & first win. & also there was a video of sm rookies watching Red Velvet's happiness mv and yeri was the only female trainee in it plus you can hear her talking to someone who sounds like irene and joy. Idk man I really think OT5 was the original.
I'm pretty sure that the real purpose of Red Velvet's debut was covering up the SM scandals. Sulli leaving f(x), Jessica leaving Girls' Generation... A lot of scandals happened and they needed to be covered up. So SM used the most common tactic - give media and people something new to talk about. This tactic is well known to be used when any scandal happens - Sewol Ferry tragedy is a good example (even tho covering up this scandal wasn't that succesful ). I think that the original lineup was OT4 AND Yeri. The problem was that RV debuted earlier than expected and Yeri probably wasn't prepared to debut in that time (maybe she had scheduled training?), so SM debuted OT4 first and added Yeri in ICC era. As you said, ICC was a really big era for Red Velvet and that's the reason I think the group was originally planned to debut in 2015. I'm sad SM didn't stick to their original plan, because to be honest, their debut would have been much bigger boom in 2015. So many people entered the k-pop world that year... Whatever. actually yeri once had a tumblr account back in 2013 or early 2014 I don't quite remember, and she was talking to someone (who posted this story in tumblr after icc happened) this someone said that yeri talked to them about how she was a trainee at SM and she was going to debut. she also said the first letter of her name started with Y. but 2 weeks later she deleted her account and soon rv debuted but yeri wasn't in the group so this person thought yeri was lying but then ice cream cake era happened and yeri was added + yeri once said Irene has been taking care of her since 6th grade and is like a mother to her so if that isn't enough prove to antis idk what is

During the video my eyes is focusing on yeri. I don't know why people hates her so much. She's a good singer and dancer too. When the number of members is odd the choreographies always look better. They should've been 5 from the beginning but Yeri was too young and SM rushed it for some unknown reason.
Thats because you can give the odd numbered group a natural center. You can really see this effect when comparing the OT9 SNSD or OT9 twice versus their current performances as 8 members
Y'all know, it's pretty cool when someone shows you that you were wrong. I, well, I didn't hate on Yeri but there's was never a full acceptance from me to her, because I liked more the group as OT4, it was kinda uncomfortable to me and, at the end, I stopped following the group. And that was like a year ago, kinda. When they released Russian Roulette I felt the nostalgic need to listen all their stuff again. And as I said, it's pretty cool when they show you that you were wrong. Yeri is a cute baby, and a beautiful person. She literally completes the group in a perfect OT5. I LOVE yeri. I think she is a very natural addition to the group!!! She fits in with the other members (which makes sense since they've known each other for a long time) and idk, overall I like their vibe as 5. Take this song! Playing with the lines a little, she becomes a puzzle piece that completes the set. I'm so glad that she joined, for real, and I will always support her and all of rv.

she is not tall. the members are very short so she looks tall around them. Joy is average height (163cm) but this could be a bit exaggerated so I am guessing she is around 160cm and that is not tall tbh.
During the video my eyes is focusing on yeri. I don't know why people hates her so much. She's a good singer and dancer too. Maybe the hater jealous of her because she got to make a debut with RV even tho a bit late and she's very pretty actually. They had been train for years. Even the renowned singer of Korea said that not all in the group should sing. If everybody sing who is gonna do the dance who is gonna be the visual. Everybody is good at singing but they had been chosen who do this and that and they have their own roles that is why they debut as a group and that is what group is.So stop hating them or yeri. When the number of members is odd the choreographies always look better. They should've been 5 from the beginning but Yeri was too young and SM rushed it for some unknown reason.
Thats because you can give the odd numbered group a natural center. You can really see this effect when comparing the OT9 SNSD or OT9 twice versus their current performances as 8 members
they rushed it bc a member from fx was leaving and they decided to debut a new gg asap to refresh and cover the issue

they rushed because the members of f(x) were having some particular problems (Sulli was an exemple) and this was effecting all the group...

Y'all know, it's pretty cool when someone shows you that you were wrong. I, well, I didn't hate on Yeri but there's was never a full acceptance from me to her, because I liked more the group as OT4, it was kinda uncomfortable to me and, at the end, I stopped following the group. And that was like a year ago, kinda.
When they released Russian Roulette I felt the nostalgic need to listen all their stuff again. And as I said, it's pretty cool when they show you that you were wrong.
Yeri is a cute baby, and a beautiful person. She literally completes the group in a perfect OT5. And yeah, this dance is more complete with Yeri in it.
Thi is irrelevant but I really want to apologize Yeri for my immature attitude in the past. She's wonderful, and deserves all the love from everyone. From now I'll send Happiness to the FIVE members of Red Velvet♥

I LOVE yeri. I think she is a very natural addition to the group!!! She fits in with the other members (which makes sense since they've known each other for a long time) and idk, overall I like their vibe as 5. Take this song! Playing with the lines a little, she becomes a puzzle piece that completes the set. I'm so glad that she joined, for real, and I will always support her and all of rv.
