ok so the question is this: is this going to be a map & content pack similar to an expansion like SE, AB, EX, or Gen? or is this just going to be an animated series?

If you're still in early development, I think you should either lose or shorten the tail, and either go hard on the fur or remove it completely.
Look at the MTG card called Woe Strider for a seriously good interpretation of the wendigo.
I actually love the design as is, but unless you really want to develop the lore for why a survivor has a tail and fur, I think sticking to native American lore will help a lot: especially when it comes to animation frames.
I'd love to see this project reach its funding goal and hopefully we'll see it before we even see the animated series.
The mod map is definitely needed too, the underground Tek stuff looks really good.

Y'know, an ARK that's nearly all tundra on the surface could make for an interesting map. Kinda the opposite of Scorched Earth, maybe some hotsprings or geothermal caves scattered about to keep things interesting.
It feels like a truly missed opportunity to not have that. I cant think of any modded maps like that for ASE either, at least none that got super popular

there is the ice age mod map (on both ase and asa) altho ngl its kinda lacking, the creature and resource spawns are sorta messed up imo

Hear me out, make the hound a shapshifting creature, like the alien in the thing.
Honestly seeing basically what is a literal Wendigo in an ARK setting is crazy. I feel sorry for everything in that ARK if it happens to get out into the wilderness, especially if this thing has the "keeps growing as long as it keeps eating" thing.
The growing in proportion to meals thing is only present in some Algonquian cultures after the consumption of human flesh (if I remember correctly from my research on a project), but the sheer thought of something that barbaric would be utterly terrifying, and a good idea for a horror mod
@uirh23iubiub34 Your probably right about that. However this thing is a Wendigo in spirit, but at the same time something original. So it gaining mass overtime by rapidly killing and consuming the ARK's inhabitants, humans or otherwise, may be completely possible.
I agree, it definitely shows inspiration from the wendigo, and is it’s own thing but it’s not necessarily mass that was gained, it’s size. It’s like a toddler having a couple chicken nuggets and it suddenly becomes a full grown adult and that’s hardly more than a snack. Irregardless I’m really excited to see where this is going, maybe before encounters the characters react to the rotting smell of it or the fear of something unnatural watching you, it’s ned, whatever happens it’ll be great. :)
It’s also really nice to truly bring in the fear aspect from Ark, I, personally never considered how terrifying it would be to be on an Ark but watching parts of the show and re-reading I realized being in an unfamiliar environment with animals you had no idea existed and extremely violent people is an untapped gold mine for a horror-drama/horror-action series.
@uirh23iubiub34 Honestly I hope "Hound" is able to mimic voices. Since the main character is looking for someone, this abomination being able to mimic human voices would add to the tension. Especially since the main character may end up not trusting anything sounding like humans and allowing Hound to keep his prey alone, easy to torment and eventually kill.
The quality was so high I didn't even realise it was Neddy, I thought I had clicked on a surprise official trailer for ascended. BRAVO!!!!!!!

I wish the best of support for this project and knowing "ARK: the complete survival story", it is sure that they have the experience to visualise peak content.
This is what they should've done with the Ark animated show - just tell an original story set in the same world / universe.

They made an all desert biome map, an all cave map, but never an all snow map , with freezing blizzards, deep snow slowing down you and your tames , and they could have igloo structures

That's a really cool idea. Maybe it's a corrupted human or glitch in the system that mixed Dna. Maybe even an alien being that broke through the Ark's sheild. Maybe it was contained by the humans that lived there but once they died out it almost got free. But now its trapped inside as a boss fight.
Maybe like Ab, it breaking through the Ark's shield cause the temperatures to drop due to exposure to space but not enough to wipe out everything.
Keep those theories coming ;)

This creature already have given us a lot of details and I LOVE it! We can tell it was a human being but somehow it became this THING. It seemed to of been a murderer, a man that had a woman tied up for a long time until he killed her when she finally escaped, she being the first of many he has killed. And he seems to know it’s not from this era, presumably being an overseer like Rockwell, finding data on everything and figuring things out. With what it said last, I think it’s safe to call that creature Torment. Or since this is a snowy ark, some could also call him the Wendigo lol

Man ive had an idea for a map thats like ab but the surface is an arctic desert full of shifting snow mounds. Inhabited by evolved reapers and iceworms. The subsurface is just a different set of ab biomes like an aberrant desert with glowing cacti for example.

The Animated Series is great and all, but we already know that story. I can't wait to see Helena's journey animated all the way through, but man the POTENTIAL for storytelling on ARKs that aren't part of the ARK Cycle and just float out there waiting to return to Earth provide LITERALLY NEARLY ENDLESS potential stories to tell, of virtually any genre. The standard sci-fi fantasy that drives ARK at its core, horror, romance, comedy, thriller, mystery, war, etc. anything is possible because you can just create the setting as an ARK and fit all your characters and history into that space.

i got kool idea. at a last stand where the Hound has killed all his dinos, it will toy with him but when he finally falls he will use his implant to send off morse code to anyone still alive, and that can lead into S2 (if your planning S2)
Yeah a frozen map would be cool but it would probably be the hardest of all of them they would need to add in like an earlier set of fur armor because it’s not like scorched where you can make some cloth and make a thatch hut for housing buff the cold is more brutal especially at night this map would be hard and probably scary
