    My grandfather built a house with perlite blocks in 1946, in Glendale Arizona. It was tested by engineers from ASU and UofA for many, many years. The blocks would float. He bet the universities he could do it if they would supply the materials. His Scout Troop did the labor, and my grandparents got a free house. It was the most insulated building I've ever been in.

    I have an idea, I am to old to start a new venture, but someone out there may want to pursue this idea. I would like to build aircrete logs. Based on the toys we all played with when we were kids, Lincoln logs. These could be pre-manufactured so really almost anyone could buy the logs and construct a building. There would need to be different lengths made say like 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12 feet etc. There would need to be some that had special ends with channels for doors and windows. There could be some that are pre wired with wall outlet boxes and switches. Logs could be pre-colored or surfaced in some cases. A building could be constructed permanently by bonding the logs together, or could be temporary and disassembled and moved. I think this could be an amazing new business that could revolutionize small buildings. And it would allow for any person to DIY.

    It seems that a PSI gauge on the air input side would pinpoint the exact setting you need for the right foam consistency. Just determine what PSI achieves your 3 lb weight, and set it at that PSI everytime? Regardless, thank you for all your very helpful videos Harry.

  • @TimAnder11
    @TimAnder11 Před měsícem

    Why don't you use a pressure regulator with a gauge to set the amount of airflow on the foam generator. It seems like if you measured the water, foaming agent and set the air pressure with the regulator you could get extremely consistent foam.

    I have see comments saying that you should adjust airflow based on pressure and I firmly disagree. If you want to control airflow, then control airflow. A 1/4 turn valve wouldn't be my first choice of valves because it's very nonlinear. But, instead of worry about the valve, make your adjustments, based on actual airflow.
    Below is a link to a rotameter, which is an inline device that allows the operator to adjust whatever valve you're using to a known airflow, in cubic feet per min. I'm not saying this is the exact rotameter you should be using, you want one that has a slightly higher volume than the max volume you run in any process. There are also surely cheaper units available.

    • @AircreteHarry
      @AircreteHarry  Před 4 lety +1

      To make 50 gallons of Aircrete I add one 94 lb bag of cement to 6 gallons of water and mix. That give me 7 gallons of cement slurry then I add 43 gallons of foam and mix. You have all your numbers all you have to do now is divide.
      Yes you can use shaving cream. Making your own foam maker with a mixing paddle bit with some stainless steel sponge tied to it, on a drill. Will be a much better way for small experiments than buying shaving cream cans. So when your ready to make larger vase or whatever you can make more foam this way. That is until your ready to buy my Aircrete Harry foam generator. You can look at my other videos for a good foaming agent I have two or three videos on the subject.

If you look at my foundation for a dome video I use a 32 gallon container for my foaming solution right now you can't do that with the air pressure one and that would just slow me down personally. air pressure units out there have a limited capacity and you're dealing with a tank under pressure if there is any type of blockages in the system boom.
