Doc explains how he keeps his lawn healthy and green during a drought. Drought watering of a lawn varies from normal watering. We simply want to keep the lawn alive and keep it from shutting down and turning brown. This is not a normal deep watering cycle for the lawn, but instead short watering sessions.

Use Bahia grass around your pond. We used it at our golf club behind our greens down to the ponds. They use it along highways too.

Nothing holds a slope like zoysia. I have a fairly new zeon zoysia backyard. What a gorgeous fine blade zoysia. Worth looking at zeon!

Hey Doc, thanks for the videos. My lawn has become so thick and awesome from the products you recommended and the lawn guides! On the spoon feed water schedule, what’s a good run time for spray heads and run time for rotors? It’s already hitting 100° here in north Texas and I have some sandy loam for my soul. Would like to spoon feed water if it’ll be better during the hot months

It’s been in the 90’s in cool season Washington State just south of Seattle and will be in the upper 80’s for the rest of the week. The heat is here. I’m 2021, we didn’t get a drop of rain for 7 weeks in the summer. Surprising to most people that Washington gets as dry as it does in the summer

I’m interested in your red neck water tote that you have in your ATV. What water pump do you have ? I use a 50 gal drum hooked to the tractor bucket and gravity feed which takes forever 😩

@@HowTowithDoc tape, got it,that handle does jump around alot and loosen up. Your feather technique really speeds things up, with large yard anything that speeds cut up is fine with me.

I wish my employer would use your videos to learn how to water… he waters at least 4 times a week in most areas and 45 minutes each or longer! And when it gets hotter its easily around an hour.. And I know for a fact each spot has different soil types! It’s really sad

Lol you call that a drought ?
Here in Bakersfield, CA (Southern California) we average 95 deg for 4 months straight (with weeks of 110 + deg ) with 0 inches of water.
