Big 4 days but got it done. Cheers for the effort you put in and looking forward to doing it all again for the bonnet, nose cone and tray. She will look killer once all put together....
Well done guys, the color certainly looks amazing in daylight.
very vibrant almost blinding on the right angle!
Great result considering the booth wasn’t breathing well. Very nice. 👍👍
Was so horrible to paint in . Cheers David !
That came out great. Can’t wait to see it finished.
Just hope they dont scratch it.
@@mattblack9344 why would you say that ?
Great job. A job like this is always full of compromises - time, money, etc. You've got to make the hard calls because it's rare we get to do everything to the highest standard every time. Sounds like you guys made some tough and probably good calls on what could and couldn't be done given the constraints.
That came up mint!
cheers mate
Glad to see Sam got the end result he was after, fantastic job, so vibrant, had to subscribe 👏👌
Legend mate I appreciate it .

Awesome job your a top painter 10/10 👌
Thank you so much 😀
Discovered your channel a week or so back. Really appreciate the way you present and run through your process. Have you done any videos on painting a car cabin? I’ve seen one that shows the prep but nothing on what process and surface treatments for the interior cabin. Keep up the good work
cheers mate thanks .i have done a video but yeah mainly just the prep , didnt film painting it due to time and difficulty setting cameras up at the time . depending on the surface of the cabin depends on what needs doing . is it in epoxy or some kind of primer or bare metal ? planning to spray body deadner or just paint it ? theres a few different things you can do .
U must of tired as after that weekend monster job
defiantly was mate
Nailed it. Would have called the color candy sunset.
thats a cool name as well!
I could paint a car in a few days, wouldn't look quit like yours............😁
haha
does the yellow vortex deepen in color over white base the more coats you put on ?
thanks for sharing your video and expertise
Yellow vortex is sprayed over a white base for better/faster coverage . it wont really get deeper with more coats , just slightly darker
Pressure prob bit high for that back panel, booth can only do so much
Nothing wrong with pressure 29psi same as every job . If anything should of turned the Ute around. But first time using that booth so had no idea . Wasn’t turning it around after I’d spent 2 hours masking it
@@BogDustForBreakfast ohh that woulda been gd idea turning it atound i didnt think of that. but yeh too late after issue's. how long did it take ya ? looks like a gd 10 hrs ive been there man, its like that on the big jobs sometimes.
did u put white base down initially or did u put candy over etch ?
i guessed that it was around 29psi, think about it bro, its too much the evidence is clear in the vid. im only sayin drop pressure down a lil for the back panel. air pressure adjustment wont alter the colour cos its clear. can understand on the candy.. im a painter too, an im very good at it cos i listen to ppls advice. ..then figure out if its bs or not later lol, just sayin man ✌ u did a killer job by the looks anyway
@@joz1751 took 5 hours to paint . Would have been around 4 hours if I didn’t run into issues with candy bleed etc . All rub throughs had etch applied , sanded and white base applied over the top so whole car was same Color which helped gain 100% coverage . 29psi is what all clear coats should be sprayed at . Lowing that will result in a textured / chunky finish or runs, It wasn’t a huge problem just took longer to paint . There’s so many things we could have done looking back . It was a huge rush to repair and paint it . I just made do with what I had and got it done .
@@BogDustForBreakfast U took the critique/advice well lol
I can get a wide variety of clears on flat as no runs with whatever pressure really. I do spray at around 25-30psi but if the situation or job warrants it I will adjust where I have to. Saves getting 2k in y eyes an face
Regardless of any of that it looks nice as anyway 🤷🤙
Why was Custom Clear used instead of the Diamond Clear?
Because I use it every day and find it’s more user friendly over the diamond . Diamond can be unpredictable when going for a flat finish with no heat in the booth 🤙
@@BogDustForBreakfast can you elaborate a little bit more on how you think the diamond clear can be unpredictable.
@@user-op4ly4sn9t sorry , it’s more likely to run than the custom clear . I’m a heavy painter I normally pump the clear on to achieve the best finish . When painting in a booth with no heat it was risky using it on this job .
Haven’t seen any interiors painted just the outside and that’s disappointing.
If only I could afford a camera man and an editor
Doing bonnet separate? Ah you managed to sneak in the brake master cylinder repair....Great job. What a huge effort in such a short period. Could see the relief on Sam's face, especially after his utter dejection discussing the original paint job, which was really hard to watch.
unfortunately the bonnet had rust bubbles all over it and i didn't have time to bare metal the bonnet as well as doing the body . so focused my time on the body first . will paint bonnet on the ute and blend gaurds at same time . hopefully can fit the tray in the booth at same time and do everything together next time i go up to brissy .
@@BogDustForBreakfast Ah of course, the tray. That makes sense then. What a hornets nest you uncovered in this job... lol
Different color again in the sun.
@@rodparnell1953 haha its all fun and games mate . sam done a decent job for no prior experience . so he needs alot of credit. yeah its not perfect but what is perfect these days!
