“Message in a Bottle” - Marsh Family adaptation of The Police song with a climate twist

- We were going to do a song about the coronation of King Charles III today, which is obviously an important waypoint in the nation’s history, and the cause of much celebration. There was much impressive parading, lots of hearty singing, some fancy outfits, some nice references to modernity and a whole load of important tradition on display.
But we wanted to use a bit of the extra time we’ve been given to sing about something more important, and more urgent, and more relevant to the future. So we picked a topic that has always been close to the new king’s heart: the environment and the need to stop destroying it. The song is one of our favourite Police tracks, released as the lead single on Reggatta de Blanc in 1979, and their first UK number one single.

Thomas’ voice has matured into something truly amazing.
Some of us have seen the changes as children. I'm 62 years old now. Years ago I saw the changes in the seasons, we had never had thunder storms in winter before.
That cornet playing is really getting better - it's always been good, just seems more confident on this song. Really enjoy your videos, keep them coming!
I am blown away by how much each video seems to "one up" the one before in terms of professionalism and vocal and musical skill. It seems so effortless, but I know it's the result of a lot of innate talent plus years of practice and growing together as a family and a "band". Kudos!
Brilliant! And the Police didn't have a cornet, which is a great addition to the song (and Ella's best performance on the instrument so far). Also love Thomas's vocals, and Tess holding the note at about 1:28 is impressive.
That was my first reaction. As a trumpet player, I really noticed the improvement in Ella's sound. Good job!

Great job!! This song goes to the heart of our reality that is denied day after day despite all the signs of dire change and disasters being reported. Yes corporations and timid, venal governments are the main forces aligned against meaningful timely responses to the climate crisis but we all participate when we pretend it is not happening. Keep on sending out messages like this Marsh folks. Your work just keeps on getting better!
The alternative is the same result. Crashing economies and people losing jobs and loss of food. Creates the same disaters. That is why some are slow to change to meet what you call a fix. A fix that results in the same diaster is not a fix. Talking point in politicians mouths with no true and capable path to meet those talking points does not solve the problem.

Excellent production as usual. I live 750 feet above sea level, dig one foot down and it is sand! i.e it was once a beach. The climate has been changing requrlarly for millions of years. We only need one big volcanic eruption and we could be in another ice age. Whilst I agree that we should do everything possible to reduce pollution and waste the scaremongering of climate activists is not necessary. We should be moving coastal communities out of danger before it is too late. A tusami in the North sea, which has happened before, could wipe out coastal communities without global warming.
