  • Fiber Internet is the newest improvement in the technology world, allowing for consumers to surf and work from home at speeds, only available to businesses. But with At&t Fiber service, households can get up to 5 gig connection!
    I opted to sign up for the 1 Gig which is a symmetrical connection, meaning 1 gig up and 1 gig down!
    Check out my follow, 2024 Video on AT&T FIber: • How is 1 Gig AT&T Fibe...

    Thank you @How. My ATT Fiber outside fiber optic cable system uses above ground fiber optic cables attached to the utility poles behind my house. However, it should be better than Spectrum... I mentioned this because not all fiber optic cables are burried. Only newer Titusville Florida neighborhoods have buried fiber optic cables.

BIG mistake. spectrum is TRASH. like coax cable just can not compare to FIBER. reordering att fiber and getting 2 GIG, do I need that much speed? prob not but its way better and cheaper than spectrums "1 Gig" service. cant wait to get it back.

    Did this for 6 years. A clean, good working install. However an incorrect one. Multiple steps skipped, including the NID test point on the outside of your house. Your supposed to have a box covering everything there as a way of keeping extra slack and a test point for future techs. Good thing a manager didn’t come out and see that, he most likely would’ve had to redo everything.

      @@how2374 So now you have both Coax and Fiber at the same time? I've been with Cox communications for 17yrs and tired of them always raising the price and fluctuating speeds and poor upload speeds. I have gigablast 1000down but a measly 35upload. They are doing "Hybrid Fiber" but thats not true FTTP and a cheap move to not fully invest on Fiber or I'd just stick with my current provider. I can go from $139 a month to $75 at ATT. Or for a little more get the 1000down and 1000up. Also would be back to having unlimited data in my house like I use to have years ago before my current company switched up its internet plans and introduced data caps unless you wanna spend and extra $50+ for unlimited data. Data caps on house internet is a crime imo. Its not mobile internet. Another reason I wanna ditch Cox Communications. But Att isnt any better in comparison but every where I read on reddit or CZcams that say if Fiber is available in your area TAKE IT and hardly see anyone that has issues with their service with ATT fiber internet.

    • @JJFlores197
      @JJFlores197 Před rokem +4

      No consumer-level computer or other network device has a fiber port. Unless things have changed, AT&T runs fiber to your house. They install an ONT (optical network terminal) somewhere on the side of your house or a garage. This ONT is where the fiber enters the house. From the ONT, they run an ethernet cable from the ONT to your AT&T gateway. That gateway in turn gives you wifi and lets you plug in your network devices to the router with an ethernet cable.

      It would have gone to the light post and hung to the eaves trough and then down to the entry point.
