Finally!! I've been waiting for someone to do a quality video debunking Dave Asprey. I followed him and the bulletproof diet for years. In fact, I was so involved that he actually quoted me in the first chapter in his first book. But after years my health was getting worst and was tired of wasting a small fortune on his zillion supplements and smart drug stimulants. Been vegan for going on almost 3 years and never felt better! My blood work is way better now, natural energy is back, and saving a ton of money on supplements!

I was sold on my vegan diet when I went in for my yearly physical after only three months as a vegan. When the doctor took my blood pressure, I waited for the usual response I'd received since high school of, "oh, blood pressure's a little high. Must be 'white coat syndrome'". The doc told me I was in a very healthy range. It blew my mind. When I got my blood labs back, it was the same. Super healthy range. I always had borderline to high cholesterol until I went vegan. What a funny coincidence that you should publish this piece on the day I had a blood test for my cholesterol. I had been on th keto diet for 18 months and my cardiologist gave me an emergency sit down on August 9 to tell me my cholesterol score put me in the 90th percentile of danger for a stroke or heart attack. I changed to vegetarian and then vegan within a week. Today's results just came in after three months as a vegan (and I love being vegan, not a strain at all). Overall cholesterol went from 294 to 149. HDL went from 75 to 55. LDL went from 205 to 83 and Trig went from 70-56. I had decided that after two days of taking a statin prescription that it was not for me. I started watching your videos and those of Simnett Nutrition and got the daily inspiration I needed and I FEEL (and look) FANTASTIC! You were a helpful cheerleader through your supply of facts derived from accredited studies. Very much appreciated.

I would possibly believe this crap if not for being vegan for almost 10 years. Everyone is looking for a miracle diet to make them feel amazing 100% of the time- but that doesn’t exist. We live in a world full of pollutants in so many aspects (water, soil, air) we stare at cell phones all day and don’t get nearly enough physical activity, jobs and financial stresses and everyone wants to blame veganism. Everyone around me is struggling with skin issues, painful periods, weight gain, losing hair. I don’t know why ppl would be content eating predominantly dead carcasses and their secretions. So happy I found this lifestyle 10 years ago. I can’t imagine my health had I not.

There are very few plant based meals offered at local restaurants, so it helps alot that I am now retired and now have the time to cook nearly all my own meals. She also always said I was her easiest, healthiest patient with zero health issues or complications during pregnancy. My oldest is 4 and in pre-k, and intellectually blowing the other kids out of the water. He can already do algebra!
Also, I’ll just note, my oldest has always been off the charts tall and super skinny and my 2nd born is more average in height and much heavier. Genetics really seem to play a bigger factor in your development! They eat the same, but have very different builds.

But this is part of the problem. You have two interviews with people - one a doctor who knows what he is talking about and one delusional person - and it is now presented like just another difference of opinion. People like him should not get a platform to spout nonsense without anyone holding them accountable to the facts. Mic is doing a great job at that but not everyone is going to see his video.

@@SGast agreed. And the reason BR does this is purely financial...he's amputated his moral centre...in favour of a 7 figure business. Shame, because there's probably a decent person in there now drowning in his own greed.

I would say force-feeding meat to children is child abuse. One must give a fair degree of autonomy to children including foods to make children healthy and teaching them the truth.

Thank you for doing this video! Even though his claims are crazy and unfounded, the sound bites can get into your head and make you second guess things. Laughing at his baseless and crazy claims is definitely a good antidote.

He's just another of these people who will do anything to make a buck. Doesn't matter at all that he's helping people towards ill-health. Well, let's also mention that he's not very intelligent.

It’s really sad that Whole Foods sells his Bulletproof line, lending his fat-laden products an air of validity. Even though the founder of Whole Foods totally took Asprey to task on Asprey’s own podcast.

Here's my antidote about thyroid problems. My grandmother, my mother and one aunt were diagnosed with under active thyroids in their 30s or 40s. My other aunt was diagnosed with an over active thyroid. They are all omnivores. I'm 48, been vegan 6 1/2 years and my thyroid is healthy.

I tried the vegan diet and I felt great for about two weeks and then I started having trouble sleeping, fatigue, and muscle loss despite still eating at least 0.5 grams per pound of body weight and not changing my workout routine. No noticeable change in the frequency of my angina (chest pains).
On the other hand, the BP diet has given me more energy than any other diet I've ever tried, it completely eliminated my chest pains, and gave me an insanely low body fat percentage with steady gains in strength and muscle mass. Furthermore all my blood tests look better than they ever have before according to my doctor. I have higher good cholesterol, which is necessary for producing hormones like testosterone, and the lowest bad cholesterol my doctor has ever seen.

I'm glad you make these videos because people are either malignant or ignorant and just make huge sweeping statements that hurt people with such confidence and it can make me question my lifestyle of whole food plant based. It's hard for me to just outright say someone is being stupid and I shouldn't listen to them, logically tearing down their argument works better for me so thanks Mic. When I hear so much confident BS spouted out it just makes me question my entire existence and point of reality. I wonder if he just is ignorant to his own lies and BS, or if he actually gets paid by someone to do this? My guess is that he just takes advantage of people not knowing or investigating things and because he makes a lot of money on book deals it's cool with him

I absolutely love and respect your videos so much. I run a food blog and use Pub Med to debunk a ton of myths and answer questions people have about the plant based diet all the time. Using research/evidence based sources is the best thing we can do to help educate others. Keep up the great work!

Vegan for over two years. I eat like crap, French fries, sugar, oil, etc and I still feel great!
Of course I do eat the occasional healthy meal but I don’t understand how people are having these wild health problems.
