I must commend you on your restraint. You were able to go nearly 9 minutes before using the word ,"bullshit". I have had the unfortunate experience of being in a close friendship with a woman who came to regard me as her twin flame. I naively indulged the notion, thinking it was along the lines of a soulmate. It was flattering, tbh. As I came to appreciate her absorbtion into the New Age extremity of it all, I knew I had to speak up. It came to a sad ending of a valued friendship. I do want to point out that she was a highly intelligent, spiritual, and accomplished person. Ironically, those traits only served to intensify her devotion to the seriously flawed mindset. I do appreciate your courage for taking on this topic.
Interesting to hear the other side of the equation…the person that this concept is being projected onto. (The object of desire and obsession) It can be very unhealthy and uncomfortable for everyone involved. We are putting a spiritual label on a disordered way of behaving and thinking. Good topic: “What to do when someone believes you are their twin flame and won’t release you?” This is why I’ve always kept the whole journey to myself, even from the other person, because I knew intuitively it was a journey I was experiencing on my own.

There’s this book called “The Incurable Romantic” that discusses these intense unrequited love situations, that become so obsessive that it can ruin people’s lives and even marriages. This needs to be taken into account within the spiritual community. ❤ it can seem like a “good thing” this unconditional love language being used as part of the twin flame journey, but we need to look at the whole picture. Sometimes love means letting someone/ something go. ❤ the loving thing to do is let it go….
This is EXACTLY my perspective on the twin flame concept ❤ it’s so damaging for people who remain in these kinds of connnections because they’re “meant to be” due to believing they’re twin flames 😑
Awesome perspective and taught us a few things, yet is in line with most of what We felt already. Twin flames are not a 'this other person is all you'll ever need' trope, they are just someone closer to someone else in a more 5d type of way.
I appreciated this take on the topic. I am someone with a lot of skepticism and yet have had experiences that I cannot deny, so I straddle the line between skeptic and spiritual continuously. I experienced a “twin flame”, I didn’t know there was a term for it for many years. I have wondered for years why there was such an intense draw, and that a draw still lasts and haunts me decades later. And why if it was so intense that it fell apart the way it did. Looking into their eyes, I could swear I saw lifetimes. Never experienced that with anyone else. You’ve given me some places to start with shadow work on this topic and investigating it in a new way. 8:40 Omg this would happen to me! Happened to me a few times with different people. I would get past lives downloads and would chase them. 👩🏼 I began to lean what my path really is. That these were karmic contracts that allowed me to end the cycle and move on. I've learned so much about myself in these karmic connections 🥴 But I chose to grow from it all! It's been night and day since I leaned into my spiritual path.
