AARON’S FIRST ARCHERY BUCK 2024

- With one day to get it done, Aaron was ready to kill any buck he could get a crack at. We had found some bigger bucks and stalked them to within range, but as bow hunting typically goes… something didn’t go perfectly and the bucks spooked.
On the last possible opportunity, Lucas (Aaron’s little brother) spotted this buck for him. Aaron was able to hold it all together and execute a great shot at 30 yards broadside. The buck didn’t go more than 200 yards before expiring and we were all so pleased.
The buck is not big and otherwise less than impressive. But he is no less significant to us and our family. The mouths that his flesh will feed are very grateful just the same. I love hunting with my sons and this one was very special to me as a father. Aaron leaves on a two year mission in less than two days after the buck was taken. He will be very missed. I am so proud of him and all of my sons.

Thanks Jeff. Aaron was beat up over the other opportunities that didn’t quite pan out. Then, a gift. This little guy gave him a shot at 30 yards - broadside. It was perfect.

Thank you! Aaron has killed a handful of bucks and most have been bigger than this buck. However, the size of this buck is not what made this hunt significant. We are all very pleased with how the hunt and adventure unfolded. Thanks for the kind words.

Dont ever talk down on your buck. If your not proud dont shoot it.
Don’t ever tell someone else what to do or what to think/feel. Nobody was talking down. It’s not a big buck. It’s a very small buck. Stating facts is perfectly fine and often is what is needed in this country today. The fact that the buck is not a giant is not what makes or breaks the hunt.
Trust me, Aaron was stoked with his buck. As was I and were his brothers.
