    I admire you two for jumping in and learning everything needed to sail. As a non-sailor it's quite intimidating, but I'm still going to try it myself someday too. Thanks for the great video. All of the captions popping up were very useful!

    Im an old dude. Scuba diver since 2004. I still like to call fins flippers just for the shock value if I have a good buzz. Few things are funner than watching the word police shit themselves. With the right buzz, and right friends you should try it ! This is most fun when you can get the facial expressions in video ! Love the content !

      You would not believe the amount of people out there who think the world is ending if something is spelled wrong or mispronounced... and they aren't even nice about it!

    Very cool. Seems like the bathroom should be called the bottom though. ⛵

    What a GREAT video. As usual I laughed several times..lol. Susy saying everything wrong and then dubbing over the same footage 😆 . Very creative!

    Some recommendations. Side Traveler is a "sheet track" and more often called a jib track if forward and genoa track if back along the outer sides of the boat by the toe rail. The traveler (also marked) goes across the boat. Stern Pulpet is a "pushpit". It is sometimes called a stern pulpit but that is not the traditional terminology. Think Pull (forward railing) and Push (aft railing). I know this is nit-picky but the lever on the left side of the pedestal was a "gear shift" that goes to the transmission. Love the way you did this. Very cool and very useful for everyone who sails. Good job!

      Thanks... there are several different terms for the same items... some more "slang" than others for sure... it's all okay as long as you don't say rope.

    • @AdventuresInParadise
      @AdventuresInParadise  Před 2 lety

      I know that's a Genoa track or Jib track... but I think my brain started to fail after all the hours of trying to make all the motion tracking work. I did notice the rear pulpit is a pushpit but if you go shopping for one, they're called a stern pulpit. I should have called the throttle "gas pedal".

    What a creative video! More than just a diversion from your usual sailing adventures, this could be a great video for an introduction to sailing class.

    Btw, If anybody wants this in book form, today 7/14/2022, there's a Kindle version of Steve Sleight's "complete sailing manual" on sale for $1.99 on Amazon. I don't have any stake in it, just bought it today myself.
