Why stan Dreamcatcher?
1. 4 come-backs and they've yet to disappoint.
2. Sticks to one genre for their singles but keeps it interesting every time.
3. B-sides are SICK AS FUCK. Listen to Sleepwalking and Mayday. They pull inspiration from different genres for their B-sides which keeps their releases refreshing.
4. Their choreo is probably the best among KPOP girl groups at the moment.
5. You can actually feel the memebers' improvement. One of the bad things about being in groups with specific roles for each member is that you're almost forced to stick to what you know and a lot of idols start to stagnate when it comes to their talent. Siyeon and Yoohyeon have always been fantastic singers, but Gahyeon, Handong, and especially SuA's improvement as singers is actually insane. They're starting to get more lines and I'm pretty sure SuA's now a Lead Singer as she gets a part in every chorus since Full Moon.
6. They are a group comprised of an opera musical singer who sneezes when she eats chocolate, a German-speaking gamer, a complete weeb and pants-wearing boss, a Kendo-trained rapper who wishes she had a pet bear, a maknae who can imitate Spongebob, an over-achiever who is lead in both Dancing and Singing as well as being the center of the group and its leader, and a Main Dancer who's slowly making her way into the Singer line and also freaked out when she held the hand of her idol Kim Taeyeon.

Concept stays the same "Dreams" but we move from nightmare era to Lucid dreams era. So sounds stay but story line goes forward.

This comeback is soooo refreshing!!! I'm loving it too much!!!!! Our girls never disappoint. I feel like this concept shows a more mature side from DC without leaving their identity, which I'm living for it!

TBH every year is always a girl group year for me but so many great songs were released this year. From Oh My Girl, Gfriend, Dreamcatcher, Snsd, Twice, Momoland, WJSN, CLC, Fromis_9, Loona, Pristin and so many more.

As expected dreamcatcher never disappoints
Admittedly, the first time I watched this MV, I didn't have an immediate visceral YASSS feeling primarily because I was taken aback by the somewhat sudden change in their aesthetic. I thought I was ready (Album Title kinda gave us a heads up on the concept change), but I was still a little shocked. This MV still has their signature "supernatural" touch but it's just different (I know... it had to happen sooner or later and truthfully, I think they did it well). Second watch though, I focused more on the song and this song is definitely going into my workout routine because this was HARRRDDDDDDD
Xaris Villa I don’t think their aesthetic actually changed, it just evolved with the storyline it presented to fit with how they themselves are beginning to evolve along with their music.
I do agree their aesthetic "evolved" - it fits this era - but my use of the word "different" is to describe my blunt FIRST impression of seeing their new MV. Semantics semantics. I did mention that the MV did still have their signature touch but STILL, it's "different". Not a bad thing, mind you. It's good for them to try something fresh or at the very least to explore new aspects of their chosen sandbox.
This song was on a whole other level. I’ve always enjoyed their music but never stanned.....HOWEVER!!! I must STAN they dragged me by my hair into this fandom with this one song and video. I loved this it sounded soooo unique and with this climate of kpop music this sound is soooo refreshing. I will be supporting these girls. No clue what the fandom is called yet but I’m sooo in!

They didn't get much credit over the two years because they didn't do much original song. But I can see where this is going. It's coming in real. And their moments have just begun. It's alternative rock pop

Maybe their first two songs and You And I were similar, but Fly High and this song I think are unique, Dreamcatcher never disappoints, but now they’ve truly outdone themselves. I’ve stanned since Goodnight and I’ve never regretted it. Im happy to see them getting the recognition they deserve!
one thing i appreciate from Dreamcatcher is that they have an identity. they bring back the 2010 post-hardcore rock genre and make it unique and stand out from other kpop artists.
they went from gothic vibes to urban "paramore"ish sound. i loved the old sound. but i love new one even more! 😍

This song is really great! The set dressing is very different from their previous songs. This is pretty much K-Rock at this point, and I like it! Going to buy it, going to listen to it, can't wait to hear the other songs on the album "Alone in the City." I'll be listening to this over and over and over for the next few weeks :P

The whole album is absolutely beautiful. Their style is definitely evolving and it’s so amazing to see how they still keep the same vibe and concept but it’s still so interesting and well done. I’m so so proud of this comeback and so excited to see how their sound will continue to grow. Also, Dami has also stolen my heart too. I can’t even describe how she makes me feel but damn she got me feeling some type of way.
I always feel like because of what they are capable of, or potentially able to, vocally, they can further push the limit everytime with their new releases. There's no word to describe how much I appreciate the existence of this group and it's these members in the group!!!

It would be interesting to see your reaction for all the songs in Alone in the City. The whole album is so dope & I think they're experimenting on different genres, trying to show their versatility. Their best album yet, in my opinion.
Like I'm not a huge kpop fan, but kpop tends let out some badasses and you can't help to stan those badasses and their bops. Dreamcatcher is definitely full of badasses and bops, and I'm proud to join this fandom.
They're fandom is growing slow but I'm with them every step!!
I listened to DREAMCATCHER coz I like their group name and started DREAMCATCHER randomly with Good Night and Fly High(both only audios) and that WHAT era made me official INSOMNIA and started stan them.
I love rock and metal, that is the genre of music that speaks to my soul. It can be mixed with other genre in order to have innovation and creat a new expereince.
Adding darker synth and electronic sound is more of industrial style of rock/metal. Listen to Minsitry, Rammstein, and Marilyn Manson. Even more underground sound like Hocico, Wumpscut, Velvet Acid Christine, VNV nation etc like dark wave electronic music is underground and best comes from Germany.
However, in pop music 80s new wave groups like Tear for Fears, Echo & the Bunny Man and Depeche Mode etc are dark synth. You also have the Cure that would blend rock with dark lyrics and still make really cathcy songs.
I get this feeling Koreans aren't big on rock/metal genre and it kills me. Japan for decades have perfect in the art of using rock/heavy metal even in their pop idol music. For some reason Koreans kinda trek rock very lightly or simplify to point it's just pop with percussion added. If I am wrong about this please feel free to send me links to korean rock and metal bands.
Dream Catcher is doing a great job marrying rock with kpop and still staying dynamic, fresh and innovative ideas. I am impressed and hope these ladies will get more support. Kudos to Dream Catcher for adding some slick cherography. Not to many idol female groups focus a lot on their cherography but they do and it deserve to be notice.
Well for k-rock groups, there's Day6, The Rose, Ft.Island, Hyukoh, and Cnblue. For k-metal from what I found so far is Noeazy. But yeah, rock and metal is not so keen in Korea. Especially metal.
@@_alysia I know those bands, guess the k-metal and hard rock scene will happen later. But it kpop idol groups want to use these genre than more kudos to them for being more creative.
Well so far Dreamcatcher is the only idol group I know that does that. There are some kpop idol groups that will add a little bit of rock flair in here and there but Dreamcatcher is the only one I know that actually does rock music as an idol group. When it comes to groups like Day6 and The Rose, they are a good start for the k-rock movement in korea right now considering when it comes to k-rock a lot of people will know Day6 or The Rose.
@@_alysia if korean do get more into rock most likely get into progressive rock sounds and harder electronic. But you gotta start from some where, metal comes from blues and folk music.

Yes JiU the leader said that they wanted to go darker and this sounds like a Linkin Park type of track, kinda like their song All I’ve Done from the Transformers movie, with that beginning sound, those hard guitar riffs and that piano part which effing slays with the entire song, I too liked that piano in the quietest part near the end, SENSATIONAL QUEENS OF ROCK AND SONGS DREAMCATCHER

This is my very first time listening to Dreamcatcher and honestly their song blown me away!!! I mean how can they be so underrated?? The whole record is dope. my current favourite is 'Trap'.
The way I look at the video is that there is a constant storyline, of which this is the fifth chapter. In "You and I" they escaped the setting of their previous three chapters (or rather, six out of the seven escaped). In "What", they have landed in an urban setting after being in that school for 80 or 90 years... Unfortunately, Yoohyeon did not travel with them... yet.
