I think he's the best forward in the world right now, even better than vermulen, he leads a wallabies team that's struggling to hit for and still always shows his running and tackling skills in a game whether that be if they're loosing or not. So, personally he's shines as an individually brilliant player.
Hoops is the man!! I would say one of the best but still not ahead of Vermulen who got nominated for player of the year and Retallick who won player of the year.

As a Welshman I'm truly jealous that you Aussies have a player like Michael Hooper. I think he is absolutely fantastic. Pocock is also a great openside but I'd go with Hooper for his attacking abilities and pace aswell as work at the break down. Hooper also reminds me a bit of Justin Tipuric - in the sense that they're not the biggest guys in the back row and they don't have enormous physiques, but they have great rugby brains and could easily play in the centre. I despair that Tipuric doesn't play at 7 ahead of Warburton.... Should be an interesting back row battle between us and you guys at the RWC! You'll obviously beat us though......that's how it always ends.
Warburton hasn't been 100% since that injury on the lions tour imo.

He’s undroppable. He’s too good. As good as pocock is hooper has to play 7. One of the most consistent and hungry players in the world.
When pocock is fit and if his form is as good as it was, do they play pocock at 6 or 7? With Hooper as the other flanker of course.

Pocock plays a better game at 7 as good as hooper is he doesn't really jackal the ball as well as poey. Pocock to capt hooper to the bench
995sean I agree. Its just that there are many recent games where a traditional 7 was required and hooper was nt effective enough to disrupt or slow opponent quick ball. But hooper, is world class no doubt, he is not as highly regarded in aus compared to the northern nations
