  • A video essay on Martin Heidegger, the German philosopher who was a major contributor to the philosophy of existentialism. Heidegger's philosophy on human existence and death, can be found in his book Being and Time.
Heidegger is famously hard to read, so for this video I looked at two great readers by Oxford philosophers. How to Read Heidegger (by Mark Wrathall) and the Routledge philosophy guidebook to Heidegger and Being and time (Stephen Mulhall).
Heidegger was also a member of the Nazi party. His personal views were horrific, so I explore in part whether they can be separated from his philosophy.
In this essay I breakdown the world according to Martin Heidegger, to show his essential existentialist philosophy.
