- These are my finds from Leeds record fair. There's a John Peel theme this time. Some great punk and new wave albums, singles and eps.

Great Suzy and Pil single!
Fantastic finds Mike. Looks like you had a great day with those Peel finds. Great singles. Cheers.
Hello Jack. I was really pleased with what I found this month. The weather was pretty bad that day so I think it kept a lot of the competition at home. I've decided that this year I'll be looking to pick up more singles than I have in the past. Cheers Mike
Some solid buys there Mike! I’ve spent far too much already in 2024… I had more cash when I used to blow my money in the pub! Love those Peel sessions… I’m after the Only Ones Session. Cheers, Jack
Hi Jack. It's so easy to get carried away with record buying! I would definitely up an Only Ones Peel sessions if I saw it. Thanks for watching. Cheers Mike
That PiL single looks super cool.
Yes it's in mint condition. I'm the lookout for the debut single, with the newspaper sleeve in good condition. Cheers Mike
Mike, some great stuff, your Peel collection is impressive. That Ruts has become a favourite of mine. I've only the single sleeve Creatures, the gatefold looks good(as does Siouxsie!) Nice haul pal. Mike
Hi Mike, I've been getting really lucky with Peel sessions at record fairs recently. Cheers Mate 👍
Speaking of Aussie punk, be sure to check out some more recent acts like The Chats, Amyl and The Sniffers and Ausmuteants (if you haven’t already). Excellent stuff
Hi there, I don't know The Chats, but I love the other two. I went to see Amyl and the Sniffers when they toured their last album and they were fantastic. Thanks for watching, Cheers Mike.
Great channel Mike. It just came up as a recommendation!! Looking forward to watching some of your previous. ❤🎧🎤🎸👍🏴
Thanks very much for watching Michael. I'm pleased you like my channel. Cheers Mike
Hi Mike. Enjoyed the video, as always. Odd we’ve both added videos within minutes of each other with the same… well, won’t reveal it here.
Interesting and unknown bands to me. Cheers from Morten.
Hi Morten, Great minds think alike🤣Ben has a great channel. Cheers Mike
Bloody hell Mike you picked up some top shelf stuff! Damn there's some great Peel Sessions out there. In A Rut is classic single. We got all the good stuff down here. Thank you so much for the shout out mate 👍I like the comparison of our wildlife development with our music. Brilliant! I'm going to see the current line of the Aints! in April. They doing a special show which is half Ed's Black Ticket Day & half Laughing Clowns album Law Of Nature. Can't wait. Great swag of 7"s. I wish my Death Disco cover was as crisp as your copy. I too would've bought an album by a band named after a great Swell Maps album. You'd have to think it would be half decent if they're tipping their hat to them. Cheers...Ben
Hi mate, Leeds record fair is a Mecca for punk/new wave and garage at the moment. Enjoy the Aints! Cheers Mike
@@mikevinylspiral If only Leeds record fair was just a bus ride away!
Cool. i have both of those Peel Sessions records and Love Bites - my copy is exactly the one you showed with the embossed cover. Excellent singles too.
Hi Brian, they are two great Peel Sessions. Leeds Record fair is really good at the moment. Cheers Mike
I remember buying the New Order Peel Sessions ep 12" and played Turn The Heater On to death! Still listen to that 12" a lot. Your NO and JD ones look in mint condition, which I always like to see! Death Disco! I LOVE that single, and it always makes me smile thinking about how uncommercial it was. Massive respect to Mr Lydon.
Both the Peel sessions eps are in fantastic condition. That's what I like about PIL, always do their own thing. Cheers Mike
I've seen that Love Bites but didn't bite myself at the time, I might next time. I have that JD, I believe they are quite pricey now, was it reasonable? Top Banshees. Not a proper fan until you have the gatefold Creatures EP (or two) ; )
Great list of indigenous wildlife in Australia, a welcome alternative to David Attenborough 🤣
Hi Stevie, I paid a little more than I usually do for a Peel Session, but it wasn't expensive. Gatefolds for the cognoscenti 🤣
Great that you could pick up The Aints ! , Ed is such a talent. I have seen him live a few times, the last time was with the
Brisbane Symphony Orchestra ( pronounced Brisbin ) here in Australia.
I purchased that Patrick Fitzgerald EP when it originally came out also PIL Death Disco, so was pleased to see you show them.
Great Pick ups.
G'day Philip., I need to brush up on my Australian accent! If I could go back to the late seventies and see any band it would be The Saints. Cheers Mike
Good Brisbin pick up…like Melbin 😂
Great stuff Mike. Jane From Occupied Europe were pretty local, so I think they played Southampton Joiners about 139 times! 😂 I think I saw them more than there own family! Those Peel Sessions are great. I could have bought the double New Order Peel Session recently, but £50.00 was out of my comfort zone!
Hi Harris, Nice to meet a Jane From Occupied Europe super fan. It's a pity they only released the one album. I've never seen the double New Order Peel Session but £50asking price would require some serious haggling on my part. Cheers Mike
You’ve never seen it..because it doesn’t exist! 😂 I’ve just checked it’s a single album with both peel sessions! Medians about £30.00..I’ll snap it up one day@@mikevinylspiral
I have the Joy Division gold Peel Session and for me that’s the best version of ‘Love Will Tear Us Apart’. Some other great finds too.
I agree with you that is a great version of "Love will tear us apart". Thanks very much for watching and commenting. Cheers Mike
When you were talking about weird things from Australia I was waiting for you to say Ben Rankin. That Aints is a nice find Mike.
Hi Steve, can't mention Australia without mentioning Ben as well. Cheers Mike
Nice one Mike I've just subscribed, you have a really good honest way about you ,From a collector on the south coast 🇬🇧
HI there thanks for the sub, much appreciated. Cheers Mike
Hello Mike ! I've never seen this New Order! Nice finds, the only Peel Sessions I have is the one by Mira Calix, an electro EP.
Hi Chris, I was really pleased to see both the New Order and Joy Division Peel Sessions. Thanks for watching, cheers Mike
Hi Mike! I never see any Peel Sessions over here unfortunately. You are lucky with those pickups. I am not familiar with "acoustic punk." Very cool Siouxsie 7" of Christine, such a great track.
Hi Mike, "acoustic punk" not a big sub genre, I think Patrik Fitzgerald is the only one! Cheers Mike
Seriously good pick ups there Mike. A gold Joy Division Peel Sessions, haven’t seen that out in the wilds. Your Peel Sessions collection is really going. Who is this Rankins fellow of which you speak? Is it that beardy fellow in loud shirts? 🦘 Brilliant Creatures and PiL pick ups. Loved all of those! I’ll come back with some dates shortly. Mike
Hi Mike, I seem to find at least one JP session every month. And of course it was that (slightly less) beardy fellow in the loud shirts 😂
How much did you pay for that love bites buzzcocks album? And does it have the insert?? And how much did you pay for the other records you bought?? You never say and I’m intrigued to know how much the dealers are charging everyone at these fares! Was at one in Woodley in Stockport before christmas, and they were a bit pricey to say the least (well one of them thought he had the crown jewels anyway!!) I know you got the rezillos for a quid (everyone on this vc always braggs about the cheap one they got!!) but the rest????
Hi there. Yes the Buzzcocks does have the inner but I forgot to show it. I couldn't say exactly how much I paid for everything. I bought the two Peel sessions and Buzzcocks together and after a bit of haggling paid £50 altogether. You always get some dealers who want silly money and are best avoided. Cheers Mike
Is modern vinyl rubbish....only in recent times can i recall opening a new record only for it to jump on first playing, maybe it's just me...
Hi Ben, I'm not sure if modern vinyl is rubbish but I have had to return 2 or 3 albums this year because of excessive surface noise. Cheers Mike
Hi Mike, i wish i could find those Peel Sessions records, great pick ups! Interesting selection of Australian music, I have to admit i have never heard of any of these artists. thanks for sharing, take care
Hi Romuald, the Aints! live album is really good stuff. Cheers Mike👍
