Just a heads up. Normally you do not take flywheel apart to change timing belt. I realize you had a broken flywheel do deal with. But people need to know that taking the whole flywheel off as a whole unit is the proper way to do this. Those flywheels are put together and are suppose to stay together unless you need to fix the flex plate. If you look close at the back of each bolts they are smashed over so they dont back out. If you have to fix the flex plate use new bolts.
Thanks for confirming. I see all of these guys unbolting flywheel. I am guessing you do need to pull top plate off distributor pulley.
Yeah I’m pretty new at this when I started and I had no one to help me with the camera so it is not so good
Wow! I try to save money but not at that expense, who welds up a merc flywheel like that? But yeah, lets see that bad boy jammin on the water!
This is a video of what NOT to do kids. If you take your flywheel off like this you will regret it. A screwdriver doesn’t cut it for finding TDC and you need 464. Start with spending 50 bucks on the manual. And look around at other videos and take your time! You can really mess your motor up if you don’t follow proper steps for timing and link and sync
Hold your phone sideways when doing videos
You are holding your camera in a way that we can see nothing useful
I know for a fact he didn’t get that timing right. Funny how he said line this with this line and this line with this mark and GOOD LUCK!!
really needed this video, wish someone was holding the camera for you, got some of it, guess I'll keep looking through videos. disappointing. and would have really liked to see if it runs.
