this was my mothers fav song she past away in 2003 when i was 17, this song is a well rounded song with great vocals. it probley ment something differant to my mother but its great to listen once in a while to remember the good times.
Great song. My sister used to listen to this on her walkman as we drove through France. A strong song for every Irish sister, wife and president (2). Irish women really hold their own when it comes to it!
I have now been listening to this classic version just about non stop for four days. I can't get it out of my head and every impassioned nuance of these three singers and the cool, laid back backing band is perfection. I've listened to every other version and the only other one that touches it is The Eleanor McEvoy-Mary Black live version. I alternate between the two. Am I addicted? y Yes - but there are no side affects - except pleasure - so I don't care.
i was at a concert in eindhoven ( april 2009 ) the netherlands and my girlfriend asked me to shout only a womens heart to Mary. she heard me and did this song as a finale of the concert. after the concert i gave her a big huggh and kiss for this :)
I think they're a great audience and well into it. A gentle song for a gentle audience. They are swaying along to it and held spellbound in rapt attention. Then break out into rapturous applause at the end. What more can you ask for? It's not for 'headbanging' to is it?
The backing is so tasty on this it makes you smack your lips and gag for more. Listen how the drummer, three guitarists and two keyboard players work in perfect selfless synergy to get that fantastic sound, the perfect fills, rolls, chord`clusters, licks, splashes - nothing ever clashing - always augmenting, never competing, never taking away from the vocals- carrying you along on a foamy tide of beauty. I would like to hear more of thesre guys (and the gals of course)
I actually did use one of Mary's CDs among several when I was buying some stereo equipment. (Back before the article). It literally stopped some people in the store, to ask who that was I was playing.
@TheStevenBaldwin Say that to my sister, mother or/and grandmother (80+) and God Bless to ya!!! Seriously, my father taught me how to fight, my mother taught me how to take an ass-kicking
just amazing again,.. irelands own whitney houston sept better ;),.... just a legend and im only 20 but i grow up around her music we all love her down in co wexford,... xX

I heard Eleanor sing it in a packed, hot basement club in Chicago one unseasonably warm February night, before I ever saw Mary Black sing it live.
This is one of my fav songs!!!

Princesses ain't what they used to be ovane1. Some of them can be very filthy mouthed. This is a great song. Three great singers. Great combination.
The strength of Mary's voice from 2:50! Wow!

Only just noticed - from the Christmas Tree - this is a Christmas performance It's ripe for it now.

GRACIA GREAT

Mary Black, Frances Black, and Karen Matheson
Mary Black looks a lot like Enya
You'd think Karen was related to the sisters...
aabsolutely amasing vocals Mary has very much lost it in recent times tho. Frances however has still a beautiful voice.

"A woman´s heart can be"?
Yes, how can they possibly know whether a woman's or a man's heart can go lower? What would people say if the lyrics went "only a man's heart" etc.?
how to kill a dance floor
;P
Except Dolores Keane, of course.
sme song
So reading between the lines, I'm guessing her heart is low
Equality isn't sameness.......some things are unique to one sex, eg, the joy or horror of pregnancy......
women have hearts?
women have too many rights as it is. these two sisters saw the light and hand cuffed themselves to the 'proverbial' sink.
